I am curious to know if any of you have PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrom) and are struggling taking off the weight like me.

Hi. I have polycystic ovaries and have struggled with my weight since i was 17. Me and my partner tried for a baby for nearly 3 years with no success so we were booked into a fertility clinic. When we got there they told me that they wouldn't even give me anything to regulate my periods let alone help me get pregnant before my weight fell within the BMI "normal" category for my height. they gave me 4 months to lose 4 stone. i was heart broken as i'd tried to lose weight before but didnt get very far and was angry that they were asking me to lose this much weight before even helpin me have regular periods even though they knew i had PCOS.
Anyway, as e were so desperate for a baby somethin inside me clicked and i worked really hard exercising for 4 hours (2 hours before work and 2 hours after) a day and seriously dieting. Amazingly the hard work paid off and the weight started dropping off.
One week before i was due to go back to the clinic, i had lost 3 stone and thought i would do a pregnancy test on the off chance (thinking that it would come back negative like so many other tests i'd done) but to my surprise it was positive!!
On 18th Feb this year i gave birth to a very healthy baby girl - it was the proudest moment of my life and sooooo worth all the hard work. It is very hard to lose weight with PCOS but you have to be very strong and determined and you can get there.

PCOS and weight loss

I have PCOS and used Metformin to help my weight loss. After my first pregnancy I lost all the baby weight (40lbs) plus an extra 30. I watched what I ate, tried to eat more protein and stay away from carbs. I had my second baby 4 weeks ago and am starting on the metformin again and am working out.
