Police Groupies

[deleted account] ( 40 moms have responded )

Is it just me or do other wives have this problem? No matter where we go there is always some hoochie trying real hard to "pick up" a cop. It doesn't matter if they are married or not. I have not had that happen to me too often but here is my experience:

My husband was on the motorcycle unit this past summer. He called me and asked if we could meet up for lunch before i headed off to work. I said yes. we decided on a place and as I was pulling up, he was just off the bike when before I could even park the car, this misses in a wee little mini skirt and heels comes wiggling along and stands right in his face. I slowly get out of my car, he acknowledges me, and I wait around by the car for a minute, thinking that this person has a legit complaint. After a few minutes though, i notice her tossing her hair around and realize she is flirting. So, i approach the both of them. She ignored me and when I "ahemed" she turned around and looked me up and down, and turned her back to me, as if to say "wait your turn". At this point I laughed because she looked so desperate and stupid. When I laughed, she rolled her eyes at me at which point, I said "honey, sorry to interrupt, but did you want me to order your lunch for you" with that, she strutted off (and in a hurry, I guess she realized how dumb she looked, hitting on a Married cop (whos ring was pretty visible) and his wife standing right behind her. I asked my husband what that was all about and he just said "oh, she's just concerned about her dad who has the onset of demetia..." "real concerned she was when she knew I was behind her" ...we both laughed over it but I have seen it happen so many times it's just sickening. They say police marriages have one of the highest divorce rates in the world because of the stress of the job, I think it is because of the groupies. Don't kid yourselves, they flirt to get out of tickets, fines, etc. They exist and I wish I could make them extinct! Get your own man, leave mine alone! LOL

I'm a dispatcher who married a cop and I'm good at my job as he is at his. I have great friendships with many of the cops's spouses and would never think to cross that line. However, I do see and understand the hostility about the common occurance between cops and nurses. However, it's no different in any other larger coed working environment. Business corporate offices-it's the male ceo or something with a secretary, or the lawyer with the law aid, or a the factory worker with another labor worker, etc. I don't put much thought to just the cop and the their relations-I just love and trust my man and hope he realizes the hell he'll bring himself if he breaks our trust...lol! Hang tight and laugh it off! Heck, now I just think "that's a great lookin guy in a uniform-and he's mine" :) I'm sure firefighter's and military spouses can relate to this as well.

My husband had some psycho girl leave a folded up letter on his windshield on the patrol car. Let me describe it... It was on notebook paper, written in Crayola magic marker (Ashley (heart) John ) it had all these lovely little hearts all over it....now here's the psycho part...this crazy woman cut a lock of her hair off and put it in the folded up paper! UGhhh! He came home and showed it to me...I was furious! Really are people that freaking desperate?! What are wrong with these women? I hate badge bunnies! When these things happen, I tell my hubby, "It's rabbit huntin' season!"

Unfortunately, it just goes along with being a cop's wife...I just shake my head. He actually had a woman tell him "she'll never know" when he said he was married...ugh! We have been married for 15yrs, have 2 kids, and he always comes home to me. If your marriage is strong, he will never notice the Badge Bunnies.

There was this one girl that had the "blue flu" bad. She had an"issue" that she wanted to talk to my hubby about. So I can play that game too. She worked at an off duty job with him, so I showed up, decked out, push up bra and everything. I looked xtra hot. I bought him a home made dinner. To which she asked who is she, I said this she is married to him, and I just thought I would let you know that I am all this, I carry a gun and I am a great shot! To which my husband replied oh yeah she is...never heard from her again. They are everywhere, this one used to listen to the scanner and find out where they went to check off. Unfortunatelly, they are men and they are flattered that someone thinks they still got it. So I took the direct approach. I trust him, I don't trust them. By the grace of God we are still married and its been 20 years! So keep that fire goin! Also, be aware of other guys yourself! I have had some proposition me, or tell me that if anything ever happened to my hubby they would be first in line! So the flirts are everywhere!

So true, thank you Tammy, wouldn't expect less from a female officer. All I am going to say is that he is the one who looked for me first, I didn't even pay attention to him the first days at our workplace, yes a married cop hitting on beautiful teacher (me)lol...for months I avoided him, even when I didn't know if he was married....but finally he got what he wanted (me)...I am sorry but he is hot...I couldn't resist the temptation...two years now talking to him and he still turns me on when I see him...I got transfer and didn't contact him anymore and he is the one looking for me...yes, he's been married for 18 years...sorry, but if I like him, I will take him....again...don't hate me...it's him looking for me...hot...hot...officer

8 years with my husband here. I used to work with him, which is how we met. But I didn't go after him b/c he was in uniform - I did it b/c he was attractive, funny, kind, considerate and a hard worker. He was attracted to me and we had a lot in common. My dad was also a cop (not to mention some friends, a few uncles and cousins are also on the force) so I already had an idea of who he was.

I see a lot of times, at least locally, when they get divorced, it is because he cheated. Usually with a nurse, or other officer. I honestly believe (especially since a lot of times I know the wife) that he strays b/c she just doesn't understand what he's going through. He had to fire his weapon, or sees something tragic.... The other woman has also experienced this same thing and possibly the exact tragic thing - so who do they lean on???

I can say the same thing for myself. When I first started working for the local jail, I saw a lot of upsetting, disturbing things; and I used to be an EMT. My boyfriend at the time had no concept of how terrible these things were. To see a person with no remorse or feeling after killing their child; or having threats against you and your family. The boyfriend would only hear the story on the news - which wasn't even the full story - and then wonder why I was so upset by it. He was a jerk for other reasons and we ended up breaking up. I decided I was going to remain single until I got through my schooling (to be a fire inspector -- long story). Then I met my husband. It was wonderful to have someone to console me during the bad times and understand if I didn't want to talk about it, or to read when I really did want to.

When I first started there, I was like fresh meat and asked out or flirted with all of the time. And several of the guys were married. Not that I'm such hot stuff, but in a male dominated profession, any female that worked there was fair game (apparently). I can see how some girls can get carried away, getting all of that attention. My husband is the only officer I've been with from there. Oh, and even after we started dating, and got engaged, other officers still hit on me - some so brazen to ask me out. And yes, some said "He will never know." And they personally knew my husband.

It really does come down to who you are married to. Badge bunnies... other officers... nurses. None of them will matter if your husband loves and sees only you.

My husband gets hit on all the time in front of me, in uniform or not. I had a girl even spill a drink on me. But you know what? My husband is my sexy piece of hunk and I am his. Everyone else, don't even matter. I feel Victorious that they want something that they can't have, something that is mine! So, don't let it bother you. You are your hubby's yummy piece of heaven and he is yours. Soooo, Put your head up high and smile cause no one else can have him but you!!!

It's been a year since the original post from Amanda and I'm just reading it ... so much for staying in tune! LOL!!

I can identify with all of the wives on here and remember two women in particular. #1 was a woman from the village where my husband worked who would kind of stalk him. I think she had a scanner. One time my husband and I were meeting for supper and I realized that he was two cars ahead of me on our way to the diner. She was one car ahead of me ... and had come between us. We laughed our heads off over it!!! #2 (a nurse) evidently was flirting with him and he didn't catch on right away. She used to have supper several times a week at the same diner. I knew her by sight/name but never saw her try to flirt with him, but other officers remarked to my husband that she had been heard to sigh, " (husband's name) was just too married." AMEN!!!! (and we celebrated our 35th wedding annviersary last summer!)

I can't remember what they called them but Badge Bunnies and Holster Sniffers certainly fits!

My husband is a K9 deputy. Talk about holster sniffers, the ladies flock to my honey and my puppy!!! As someone said earlier, he always comes home to me, ON TIME!! I don't see a problem with the people he actually works with, it's the others. He'll come home and tell me someone told him he had a cute butt today. I'll grab ahold and say, well, you do!!

LOL!!! I met my husband while he was going through the acadamy to become a PO. After we got married I got a job as a dispatcher with the same department he worked at. I do have to say that dispatchers are the worst, not all of them but some of them. I no longer work in dispatch, but do still work at the Sheriff's Office, and my husband now works for a different department and we laugh all the time when we talk about the latest dispatcher/officer sneaking around. And Yes there are lots of other women out there who are just after a man in uniform.

Holster Sniffers, Badge Bunnies, Badge Lickers, Siren Chasers...heard them all. usually I scare them off if I meet up with Hubby for lunch while he is in uniform....I bring my twin 3 year olds. It scares them off!!!

however, if we are not with the kids and these "girls" start in, they usually get an earful about how its not that easy being a LEO wife. that usually scares them off too. :)

We call them Holster Sniffers. My husband was also on a motorcycle in Highway Patrol and they flock to the leather like flies on POOH!

SOme of the names are so funny....Badge Bunnies and Holster Sniffers!!! It really doesnt bother me...I am secure with who we are. it's funny that you mention a ring, mine doesnt wear his to work. He almost had his finger pulled off when it got caught on something. A ring is just a ring , it's the man wearing the ring that counts. I have seen females, dispatchers, othe female officers try and flirt, but we just laugh at it later. Really are they that sad that they have to flirt with a married cop?? Survey says...YES!!! Be cnfident with your man....if it bothers you chances are there is something else there that you haven't looked at or don't want to look at...maybe you think it is a possibility??

LOL! Yes! Groupies are everywhere! I've even found them working in the PD as records clerks or dispatchers, etc.  That is not to say that all of the women working in those areas are groupies, I know they aren't, but some absolutely are.  Groupies always make me laugh because they are so freakin pathetic.  If they knew have of the Sugar Honey Ice Tea that I have to put up with being married to a cop, they would run screaming. LOL!  Thank god I knew may husband since high school otherwise I don't think I could've handle it myself at times.

No one can ever put hemselves between a man and his wife.  The husband has to let her come between them is all i'm saying.  Women and men flirt, it's up to the married one to be faithful, they took the vows.

I am happy in my relationship and know where we stand.  I know some of the guys he works with are unfaithful.  I also have friends who are dispatchers, we all hang out and do whatever.

In our small town it is really about who you know to get a job dispatching, and they have done a very crappy job hiring.  We have 4 ft dispatchers, 3 of whom are great right now.  The part timers are the ones who really bother all of us wives, not just me.

The dispatchers have a role in my husbands safety as well, and from top to bottom....I don't like the part timers.

I am not talking bad about them, just those we have.  I love a dispatcher that is great at her job, I don't have to listen to him complain about how slow she is, or how she can not do this or that.  makes my days better knowing he is in safe hands.

And to Tammy, those women KNOW they are married men.  I would NEVER put myself between a man and his wife.

I am a female officer engaged to another officer.  I have to say from experience that it is usually the married guys hitting on dispatch, nurses, female officers , whatever..... Just know your man and your relationship.  It's funny how the females who are probably single get a bad name for hitting on cops.  Y They are single, they can do what they want. It's up to the married guys to walk away just like in any other situation.  Let's not demean other woman K!

Wow! Lots of hostility against the dispatchers. Some of them do work in PD's to meet cops, but not all of them! I do my job because I'm good at it & I love it. I understand the hostility from the wives though. I'm friends with many of them & they tell me that it's uncomfortable to know that their husbands are spending 8-12hrs a day with other women. Plus some times a group of us will go out after work too. Anyways, as I said, those badge lickers can try all they want, but if your husband or spouse isn't in to it then it's not going to happen. If he is then that's on him. Either way, don't stress yourself about it.

We call them Badge lickers here and the dispatchers they have been hiring have been terrible.  I was just talking to my sister about them the other day.  I can not think of many pd dispatchers we have had in the past 13 years who have not been sluts.  One that just left was sleeping with 2 cops at once.  One was married and just had a new baby.  I used to worry, now I just think....I am raising the kids like a single mom, go ahead and take the headach and send the child support and alimony LoL.  He knows better.

They're everywhere & probably not going away anytime soon. We call them holster sniffers. Hey, I'm a dispatcher & I don't hit on the married cops. Well, obviously I'm with my own Officer, but 9 times out of 10 it's the Officers trying to pick up the dispatchers! Believe me, you have no idea how many times I've told someone to go home to their wife & kids.  Disgusting! We can only pray that our men are smarter & more dedicated I guess. As I tell my husband, in the end you're the only one that needs to know you're married. Not the holster sniffers! Lol! Oh & 1 more thing, I've found that nurses at the hospital are WAY worse than any dispatcher or girl on the street. No offense to nurses but  some of you are way too persistant!

its funny i am married to a cop and am a cop..so when i discuss how women treat my husband and how guys treat me it is night and day..those girls are going to be around forever and it doesn't matter..if your marraige is strong you and he will not even notice those chics..and sadly i talk to other wives with husbands doing "whatever" and those chics are there too..hooches are hooches no matter what "uniform" your husband wears..i call them "holster sniffers"..

funny story when i started years ago i was the only chic on the department and the guys used to tell me the stories of the chics who would hit on them..i used to crack up..i stopped this chic and as i was sitting in the car getting ready to put my hat on i saw her fixing her hair and checking her lipstick..i got up there and as soon as i spoke to her its like she was so disappointed to see i was not a dude..i thought it was funny and she got a tickett which made it even better..

I have to say I am guilty on this one. When I was younger I used to flirt with a cop in my hometown. I always thought, "wouldn't it be exciting to be married to a cop?" When I went to college, I met my husband who as it turns out is now a cop. He actually got hired in my hometown to take over for the cop I used to flirt with back in the day. It was kind of funny how it all worked out, and my husband and I laugh about it. He has told me about the women who flirt with him trying to get out of a ticket or whatever. He says that if I saw most of these women, I would know that there is nothing even remotely attractive about them. I really don't worry anyways. I know that he looks hot in the uniform, but I am the only one who gets to have fun with him when he's not wearing it. Because of our strong faith and commitment to each other, I know it will always be me and no one else. We both get attention from the opposite sex sometimes, but I think it just makes things hotter between the 2 of us. SO use it to your advantage. It can be a great confidence booster for both of you.

I'm with Melissa, next time you should plant a big kiss on him. That will get her running.

Now since he has been a detective an has to wear a suit, people look at him even more. I know that he comes home to me every night, so I have nothing to worry about. lol~~ funny!! but I would have had a hard time not walking between then and planing one sexy kiss on him, and then rolling my eyes at her! haha~~ don't think I would have actually done, it, but I would have thought it!:-)

k, I was never a "groupie" but I did talk my way out of a number of tickets in the small town I grew up in when I was younger. Because I know lots of the tricks, and have told my husband all of them, sometimes when he actually comes across a girl/lady who tried to "flirt" her way out of a ticket, (As long as she actually deserved one) we laugh about it when he tells me the look on her face when he hands her a ticket!
