My daughter is allergic to dairy, soy, eggs, peanuts, and peas. With the holidays coming up, I am in need of some allergy friendly recipes or some tips on what I could substitute certain foods with. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

im not sure if yoou in the us or australia, but you can buy somthing called 'no egg' you can use this in any receips that have egg in it,it can take while to get used too but great stuff, you can buy from coles supermarket or any health food shop.the other is almond milk once again you can use as replacement of any milk sub,not badly priced too,if you want any receips just give me a yell and ill put some on for you.my little girl has been allergy, low blood sugar and asmatic for a couple years now and it has taken me a lot of work and study to know what i am doing.she is tested every year for her allergies, dairy, egg (air born she can die) peanuts and was wheat but ok now with that one.she is now 8 but the allergies has got worse not better but now in our house and school it no biggy.good luck

Hi! We have similar allergies we're working with for our son, as well as wheat. We use coconut or palm oil in baking- it seems to give a similar texture to butter but without using soy shortening either. We sub applesauce for eggs but I have heard of the Ener-G replacer as well. Have you seen the Living Without magazine? It has substitutions for practically everything! We love it. Good luck!

Energy-G egg replacer is available at many grocery stores. As well as Rice Milk. I use Trader Joes Enriched Rice Milk which is great and cheap. My 2 yr old is allergic to peanuts, dairy, egg, soy, wheat, and barley. 2 books I highly recommend: Sophie-Safe Cooking by Emily Hendrix and The Whole Foods Allergy Cookbook by Cybele Pascal. Happy Holidays.

Thank so much! She does drink the rice milk, I just need substitutes for egg and butter and what not. I will definately try out the egg replacer you suggested!

Oh, I feel for you. My daughter is allergic to dairy, eggs, bananas, kiwi and sunflower oil.

Anyway, I use rice milk for recipes and I heard of something called Ener-G egg replacer. You can find it at nature food stores. Try the Vegweb.com for vegan recipes that might work for you. Good luck!
