HI all,

My son JOshua wsa born with severe Excema. At the age of 5 we found out through testing that he is allergic to pollutants in the air, grass, pollen etc. He also has Asthma etc :( Makes it quite difficult for him at times.

Anyone else out there with children with similiar allergies?

Take care

Maggie

Yep! Our allergist/ asthma doctor tells us that allergies, eczema and asthma go together. He says it is rare to find a person that has one of these things, especially if it is moderate or severe without them having others. My oldest escaped allergies, etc. But that is a blessing as he has a chromosomal deletion and has so many other things to deal with. My 4yo is allergic to cats, peanuts and penicillin. My 2 yo is severely allergic to grass, weed and tree pollen. He may also be allergic to wheat and eggs, but he reacted as much to the saline control as he did to wheat and eggs, so it is hard to know. My boys also seem to have a lot of contact dermatitis issues. Carpet, grass, detergent, fragrence, etc make their eczema flare up terribly! It is hard when they can't even touch carpet.... UGH! Winter is a bad time of year for them. I am sure you are facing that too right now. Our allergist just gave us something called Atopiclair for the eczema. It is non-steroidal and seems to work well for my boys.
Good luck with everything!
