I have just recently purchased some potatoe salad which contained sweet pickles, i thought they had dill pickles( i do not like sweet pickles). I gave my son a scoop of salad and he ate some of it and gave himself a potatoe salad facial with the rest. A few minutes later i looked at him and his face was welted/red/swollen where he had smeared the salad. I ran down to the drug store and gave him some benadryl and the welts went down. Is this a typical kind of allergy, im not allergic to anything so i have never seen this kind of reaction before.

yes it is... my son is allergic to eggs and milk besides treenuts and peanuts... but he is allergic to touch also... if it touches his skin he has a bad reaction.... one time i was eating mozzarella cheese while making a pizza... i kissed him on the cheek and he got a welt on his face that looked like my lips....imagine my surprise.... my husband and i try to only kiss him on the hair... its safe.....
