Hello

I had a baby girl 5 Months ago. Natasha she was born with Club Foot. They found it on my 20 week scan.

We had to take her to Booth Hall Hospital in Manchester, Not thinking good thoughts not knowing what to expect. When we got there the staff were really good. Talked us through what was going to happen. She had to have plaster casts from the tip of her toes to the top of her hip. She had 3 casts then she had an opperation called an Tenotomy, put her in plaster for another 2 weeks, they then put her in boot and bars for 3 months night and day. They were a pain at first. We reacently went back the boots are now off she only has to wear them for 14 Hours a day. Till about the age of 4 years. Mainly at night. They have said she has got the perfect correction thats needed, so there is no long term damage. i will post some photos soon.

would like to hear your storys.

Hi every one
I was born in 1972 with a club foot , I was one of the first babies to have a plaster cast pot on for 3-6 months it worked my foot is totally straight , my parents were worried about me having this done , but it was a success alothough if I go over on my ankle it takes a while to heal , now I tend to wear ankle boots. Good luck with your children , hope they are all a success & that this method works for your child , Take care TANYA XX

Hi there my daughter was also born with talipes and we have been under miss Davis at booth hall hospital and now the royal manchester childrens hospital. Ellie is due to undergo surgery for the tendon transfer and release in the next few weeks. Would be great to hear your story and progress. I struggle to talk about Ellie's feet with friends and family as they dont really understand.

I found the same thing to be true, Meredith. When we were in the hospital none of our visitors noticed unless they knew beforehand and thought to look, or if we made a point of showing them.

Thank you for sharing. My Daughter is 5 and her correction is remarkable! We were so scared when she was born and most people don't even know anything was wrong with her foot.

Thanks for sharing, Paula!!! I could only see the 1 picture of Natasha, the one from the hospital. I love seeing little babies' feet :-) I'm sure it was scary not knowing what to expect. I will post my story soon. I'm so glad that Natasha got the perfect correction!!! Where do you live?
