Well lets get this started by saying.... this baby was a compleat surprise! We found out in Febuary that we were getting a Habitat House and we were so excited that our 2 boys would get a room of there own! Then the end of may brought us a heart break when we found out that my 2yr old son had a cancer called Neroblastoma. We had just started his first week of chemo and we were 1 day away from going home when i relized that i wasnt feeling well at all, and everything was making me feel sick! and my face was breaking out really bad. So i asked my husband to pick up a pregnancy test. When i took it, it only took seconds for the + sign to come out! I was in shock. With everything i was going through how was i going to deal with being pregnant! I still dont know how im going to deal because we have to do chemo and a transplant between now and December... Things are going to get crazy but i guess that the lord only gives me what i can handle. Any suggestions on how to cope would be awesome!

Danyelle,

My 10 year old is terminal with Cancer and I am also pregnant (11 weeks) My best advise is and I am sure the cancer doctors told you this. Is you should NOT change your sons diapers or handle any mucas, pee, poop, tears, blood, spit, vomit, bath water.... anything that comes out of him for 48 hours after he has a treatment. He is toxic and what the Chemo does is kill any rapid growing cell (his cancer) but that is also a growing baby. You need to have you husband do this for the first 48 hours after EVERY treatment. If he is potty training already you need to flush the toilet 2 times to dilute ANY remaining toxins that might be in that bowl. Expecially if you get sick and vomit you can't have that splashing back into you face. Tell you OB doctor that you are exposed to Chemo toxins. Mine at 20 weeks is scheduling a specialist to do the ultrasound and to give a thourough exam of every organ and bone size. Good Luck - I don't mean to scare it I did - but I am in the exact same boat and I want you to be aware of the dangers and to keep you and your baby safe.

Wow, I am so sorry. The only advice that I can give is that you are right the Lord doesn't give you anything you can't handle. With His help you can do anything.
