I am the mother of a BEAUTIFUL bi-racial daughter. I am 100% black, although in the black community I am considered a "light skinned girl". My daughter is white and black but she is 10000000% white in color. She has facial features that resemble me, but I'm coffee and she is cream (i have a sense) of humor. When out on the town recently I had an older white woman come up and tell me that she was "darling" I found that sweet UNTIL she asked me if i were the nanny or maid. Now its 2009 and I am a real life positive polly but it took everything I had not to cock back and send this lady to her maker. It's sad to say that with all that has changed, people still look at bi-racial relationships as a slap in the face. WTF is with ignorant people. geez

WOW. All I can say is: old ladies are a trip. I get mad every time someone asks if I'm babysitting or (even worse) what country I adopted my kids from. I understand I'm very pale, and my kids have very dark skin, but I don't understand why that's the first thing that comes to peoples mind. Nearly everyone I know with kids is in a interracial relationship, it isn't an unusual thing. I don't know, your daughter is beautiful and so are you, and that old lady has to live with her ignorance, so you have one up on her, you know what I mean?? :)
