my daughter is 3 months old now and is beautiful and i dont care what color she is just curious if this is common if hair will often be soft when born and change over timebaby she looks spanish kinda but not mixed black/white. she looks like her daddy who is very dark in alot of ways but brown hair and light skin that is not changed much, i have looked for pics online to see changes mixed children go thru over a extended period of time ,but cant really find any. If any one has any input i am very interested Thankyou!! p.s. My daughter is healthy happy and gorgeous , i am so excited to have her !!!

my daughter is 1/2 white 1/2 black..i'm very pale and her father is very dark..she is so light skinned i always get asked if she's hispanic because she tans well in the summer time. the only thing she got from her dad was super thick and curly hair. she has hazel eyes also just like me lol. Her father has a son by another woman who is white, their son is a lot darker than my daughter, but they look a lot alike. it's crazy how genetics work.

my son is 1/2 black and 1/2 white but to be honest he looks mexican. his dad is very dark and in white. so with my son looking more white then anything my babys father refuses to claim him saying he is not mixed........

o.o well my kids aren't strictly half and half, as i myself a mixed, but my daughter is strawberry blond with grey/blue eyes and white. Shes actually lighter than her dad. And yes everything can change. When my son was born he had blue eyes within hours they where dark brown. My daughter is 2 and her hair had only gotten redder, and her eyes had turned grey. However even white children, they can be born platunum blonde and by the time they are adults its brown. My husbands hair is slowly turning brown, im a little sad about that.

It is so amazing how genes can make one person look so different from another with the same backgrounds. I have meant many black and white mixed race people many who look white. My son looked nothing black and white mixed at birth the nurses had to check my wriast to make sure my son was my lol. Few months ago the doctor asked the father of my son if our son was adopted than she asked if my son was mexican? weird but people who my son doesn't look black and white mixed.

My eldest son is almost the same colour as me (White) but tans nicely and quickly during the summer. His dad is from Ghana and I am a pretty fair Canadian. Most people told me that he would get much darker as he grew but here he is at nine and still the same! My other two children are different colours too both darker - Beautiful :)

When my son was born, the nursing staff thought id had an affair or something as they sept saying my baby looked european...he was really really white when he was born and at nearly 4months has just started to darken..all of my husbands family said it is quite common for mixed kids to be born really light but they get darker as they get older. My husband is Nigerian and Im Australian.

I am mocha black and my husband is fair, blond with blue eyes. It is great how our children have both of our features. One looks hispanic the other more of his father's features stand out. Some of his friends from school have asked if he was adopted when they see me. He looks a lot like me when I was his age and he still looks like his dad.

go figure

My daughter is the same exact way! I am 100% white and her Daddy is 50% black and 50% puerto rican. She has fair skin, it's a very pretty olive tone. Most people would never guess that she is biracial. She is 18 months old and has stayed the same color since birth, but she has super curly crazy hair. She is healthy, happy and gorgeous, so skin color is the last thing i am worried about! :)

my son is almost 2 1/2 and when he was first born people couldn't tell he was mixed at all. I am white and fair and the dad is fully black, medium skin tone and our son was born white like me and had straight, soft red hair. At about 5 months his tan started coming and it started on his legs and worked his way up to the nipple line and stopped. His tan has evened out since last summer, but he is still very light and has some freckles. His hair is still red, although the texture has changed since we cut it at 18months, and is now in between my hair and his dad's hair in texture. Mixed babies can turn out all different ways and could look much more like one race over the other.

I have 4 beautiful are Caucasian/African American girls. My oldest (19, father 100% black was born fair with straight black hair. After a couple of months her hair was curly and she did not get any skin color until she was about 10. I think the sunlight had alot to bringing out her color. My second (17 father white/black) was born fair with straight brown hair-now she is darker than my 19 yr.old and has curly hair. My 4 and 5yr.old (have the same father 100% black, but light skinned). My 4 yr.old was born with black straight hair and blue eyes. Now she has light brown hair with bluish-gray eyes and her skin color is fairly brown. My 5 yr. old was bald and did not get hair until she was 18 months--started out fuzzy white and now she has a head full of beautiful, dirty blond spiral curls. She also had blue eyes, now there gray and she is very Fair. It's amazing the transformation over the years.

My son is mixed black/white and im super white and he was super dark but at 3 (my sons age currently) people still say he looks Hispanic, but a lady I know told me her kids were the same way until about 5 or 6 when they started getting darker now you would never guess they were her kids.

My daughter is 15 months and I am still waiting for her to "darken" up. Everyone always thinks she is spanish because she is so light skinned. Thankfully her hair is so super soft and has stayed soft. I dont know if you have heard of it but I use a product called mixed chicks in my daughters hair. I use the adult formula since it is more moisturizing than the kids version. I am sure your daughter is just beautiful!!!! :) SN: My daughter looks just like her daddy so I joke the only thing she got from me was most my white color.
