What are your favorite multicultural reads? My daughter loves to have me read to her she's 21 months old. With the recent movie Princess and the Frog my daughter has seen a lot of merchandise with characters that look an awful lot like mama and daddy. She gets so excited! I am open to any suggestions, not just books with black and white characters.

People, by Peter Spier is a great multi-cultural book for children (and adults too) I gift it to all the new parents I know b/c it teaches kids about how different people are around the world, but how we all want and need very similar things.

I love the book "Please Baby Please" by Spike Lee. Great illustrations and verbage. And it's kinda funny.
Also, we love the book "Ana Cultiva Manzanas." It's about Annie the apple farmer and it's in English and Spanish. I just want her to be aware of the world outside of our walls.

Who Do I Look Like?

by: Mary Schulte

My 7 year old daughter found this book when she was five. She read the title and was instantly attracted to the story. The tan red headed girl on the cover with freckles helped too. Check it out in the library then hit amazon.com for your own copy:)

U'll Luv it:D
