Omg .....ugh my head is gonna start itching. Seriously, when ever someone says lice it starts. I would first suggest you confirm it came from the baby sitter as kids can get lice from the play ground. If you kid is old enough make sure they arent shairng head gear. I find it odd that she got it as live generally like stright hair, easier to move around it. You can try rid or nit soap, ask the doctor first. If you don't want to use chemicals find another way.

I'm dealing with the same problem. I wished I could post a pic of my baby's hair!! I've read that pure old school Listerine works on eggs and live bugs. I'm about to try it all!

my daughter came home with headlice all the time, she too has tight kinky curls.....there is no way around it you have to pick it out over and over again, once it took me about 3 months of doing her hair every two weeks to get rid of.......next time you buy shampoo go to the pharmacy and get a small bottle of TEA TREE OIl.......and put 2 cap fulls in your bottle of shampoo and shake it up.............it wont get rid of the existing lice....as far as killing it goes...........but it will ward off any chances of gettting it again......They do not like the smell or texture it leaves hair. I use it in both my daughters hair as well as my own......and we haven't had lice in a couple years!!! I just condition our hair afterwards, I also use it on my dogs when they have skin irritants and it clears my dogs skin up so it is completely safe.....as far as washing hair with!

I have learned the hard way that if you don't want the big mess of dripping greasy mess allover everything, And you just want to "treat the problem", 1st use the lice shampoo, then you have 2 options. 1. use activating gel,( the stuff you use for those curls that african americans get to keep the "wet look"). or 2. just grease her/his hair, (just part and apply), i have done that and haven't had any problems in 3 years. GOOD LUCK.

i know this sounds stupid but mayonnaise....you put it in there hair put a shower cap on it let it sit about an hour and it makes it to where the lice slide right on out so much easier

you need a metal knit comb, the shampoo only kills live lice, NOY EGGS! If you do not get rid of the eggs they will keep coming back. Unfortunately if her hair is very long you may need to cut it short. but try the shampoo and make sure the nit comb is metal the plastic ones will just break. Run the comb thru her hair for a few days and make sure to put baby oil in her hair so new eggs wont stick to her strands. I work in a kids program and we had a very bad lice issue for a while any more questions let me know.
