Curly Hair?

I'm mixed race none of our hair got curly. My mom had slight waves from her photos. But my baby probably will have curls seeing his/her dad has really curly hair. my cousins didn't get really curly hair until they were about 3 and they are considered fully black. My sister's kids' dad is either fully black or black and native american. And the eldest got curly hair in their toddler years and her youngest still has straight black hair.

My sons hair was straight as a pin until he turned 1,, then it started etting curly.. Now he is 2,, and it is CURLY as ever!! Gotta keep the detangler handy((We use the Just for Me detangler))!!

my baby had straight hair when she was 1 to 11months but then at 11months it was curly and im confused bec. me and my boyfriend had straight hair...my baby's hair goes straight when wet and curly when dry and i dont understand why....i hope she will have a straight hair....

my sons hair is only curly on the top of his head right now and its been like that since he was born. for all i know it could go completely straight one day or completely curly lol

My babies did not have any hair until they were at least 1 yrs old. my daughter has soft spiral curls and my son has only little hair on his head, and big curls in it. Actually my boy's hair looks completly different from my daughter's hair even the colour is lighter not to mention the texture of it.

Usually after the first couple of haircuts it starts filling in and getting thicker. Don't get too anxious! Once the beast is unleashed you are in for trouble! LOL I know this because I have naturally confused mixed girl hair! I am growing it out and trying to refrain from relaxers and irons so I do the two-strand twists. I can offer advice as it gets more difficult to deal with. De-tangle spray, leave-in conditioner or leaving in a small amount of regular conditioner can help when combing through wet hair. ALWAYS make sure to hold the roots of the hair slightly tight and start combing out the ends first and go towards the roots. This is general info since most of us biracial/African-American women already know the secrets of naps.

My son (now 19) developed curls as a toddler. They were so cute. My daughter (now 17) was at first pretty bald, then as her hair grew in, it was the more adorable curly blonde (yes, blonde) hair. Then when she reached about 4 or 5, her hair started to grown in straight. You just never know what God had planned. My youngest never had really curly hair, just kinda straight & frizzy. I really miss the curls; my son keeps his cut really close and my daughters prefer to straighten their hair.

Our beautiful little man is hispanic/african american and his hair started getting curly right around 6 months. His hair grows incredibly fast also... I just love the curly hair and dimples that he has.

My daughter had straight hair until she was 6 months old, then it curled up. The weird thing is it went straight again after she turned 1 and it's been straight ever since (she'll be 4 next month). My older son's hair started getting curly around 4 months and he has had big curls (like Shirley Temple) since then. People think he is a girl and ask if I curl "her" hair...

my daughter was born with straight black silky hair it started getting curly around 4-6 months and as she got older it got curlier by 2 she had a relaxed afro by 4 she had an afro but the hair was soft like mine now she is 6 and she has a full afro thick an corse.

My son is two now... and I'm still waiting for the curls. Only way his hair curls if I grow it out really long. Our daughter hair was curly at six months. And my eldest daughter hair didn't get curly until a year old. Now I have a three month old son... no signs of curls yet.... :)

My son is 14 months old. His hair was always nice and straight, then we he started to get more the front started to curl up a little. When he was about 10-11 months old his hair completly curled up! He has tons of curly ringlets! I absolutely just love it. Im not going to cut his hair because I want his ringlets to grow longer. I am going to be soo sad when I have to cut his hair. Its like saying goodbye to his "babyhood"! He also has like a golden brown hair color. Looks like its been sunkissed in a way. I know what you mean though. I adore curly hair as well. His curls are just the fluffiest too! lol. But probably by one year, you should be able to determine whether your child will have curly hair or not.

my daughter had straight hair until she was 12 to 18 months old...I too thought she was going to have straight hair, but now she has long beautiful spiral curls. The wait was worth the end result
