I have been on the search and adventure for finding the best way of caring for my nieces hair and my own as I go natural. I do suggest NOT, I repeat NOT chemically treating your child's hair, whether Bi-racial or not!

I myself have switched to using sulfate free shampoos and conditioners on our hair, it's good for any hair type.

Here are a few product links to hair products and a blog to help in your journey for finding what works for your child's hair:

http://www.mixedchicks.net/ (sold at your local Target store)

http://beemineproducts.com/

http://www.sheamoisture.com/ (sold at Target and walgreens)

http://beadsbraidsbeyond.blogspot.com/

It should link you to other blogs for hair care for mixed children and hair care tips.

Hi Safiyyah,

After many, many years of trying different products I have found a site that carries a fantastic selection for black/mixed Hair and skin. They also have an active facebook page. www.nandikids.com The lady who runs it is very knowledgeable and answers all of your questions about products.
I have to say that I was nervous about doing my daughters hair, wanting it to look fantastic but doubting my abilities. But I have now come to enjoy the quality time that I get to spend with her when doing her hair and have to say her hair looks great ;-).
