Hair: Straight so far

My son's hair was straight till 8months or so then got loose curls and then once we cut his hair at 1 1/2 years old his hair grew in curls thatwere kind of in between my hair and his dad's hair

My son is mixed race. I am myself mixed race and his father is white. He was born with light brown very straight soft hair. over time it started to get a wave to it and as he started to move more and lost his hair around the back and sides as they often do it started to go very curly on top and people would call him a mini Mr T lol. His "dad" wasn't very happy about it and cut it without asking me :-( after that it grew back curly again but thicker and has gradually over time (hes now 2 years 9 months become very tight afro hair with curls its very short as its so tight its hard to even brush daily without it wet n conditioner in

It varies from one child to the next, I believe. I am Black-American w/ tight curly hair that is in dredlocks. My husband's hair is very straight. My son was born w/ a full head of hair that was jetblack & straight. None of his hair ever shed. He had to get his first haircut at 6mos.(& I nearly had a breakdown) because his bangs were so long & straight in his face. His hair had a little wave to it as it got longer but it was still in his face. I tried braiding his hair to keep it out of his face but it was too straight & wouldn't hold without a lot of holding gel; so I had to give in & let my husband take him to a shop that specialized in children's haircuts. He videotaped it because I didn't want to go watch it. My son is almost 5yrs. old now & we keep his hair short. Maybe later on, when he gets older he may want to grow his hair long. He looks like he could pass for Latin or Middle Eastern; he's actually black & white.

My son is 5 months old and his hair was straight as a board and long, I could put it in a perfectly tight mohawk! It's all fallen out and it's just a very soft fuzz (looks like my hair when I was a baby just brown) and then ontop it didn't fall out and it's a little curly when wet and it's starting to curl. We'll see what happens

My husband is from Cote D'ivorie and has tight curls in his hair, which is why he wears it short. I'm white but I also have very curly hair. My son was born with a ton of black straight hair. It is my husband's culture to shave the baby's hair at 1 week old. With tearful eyes we shaved his cute little head. It all grew back...THANK GOD...but when it grew back it was so curly.

Hiya my son is half nigerian half irish and I have red straight hair and my partner has tight afro hair!!My son was born with straight thick hair which we shaved off at eight weeks old, the hair began to grow back quite quickly and is now also very thick wirey and curly, I thick it is because we removed the soft baby hair!!!

My twins were born with straight hair. Daddy is black and I am white. My son's hair is dark brown, and my daughter's is auburn! lol It curls when they wear hats. They are only 4.5 months old, so it will be interesting to see what happens in the next 6 months.

My son is 4 month's now. He was born with long, straight black hair, I had to give him a hair cut at 3 week's, and again at 3 month's cause it was so long people were calling him a little girl and it was looking way to messy, after the first cut, it went curley now it's nice tight curls :)

hey ladies! i have 2 kids a little 2yr old daughter and a 3mth old son, there dad is fijian, with thick course "afro" hair and i am full aussie with dead straight hair, both ma kids were born with thick straight black hair, but by 6mths have lost it all and been completly bald! my son is still at the bald stage and ma daughter now has soft thick tight ringlets, so a cross between both parents, fine enough to straighten and pretty nuff to wear natural, best of both worlds :)

I was told at the hospital when I gave birth to my oldest that all mixed babies (mulatto's) are born with straight hair. It depends on how soon they will lose their babyhair on how soon the curly hair will come.



My daugther is almost 8 month now and has long thin straight hair. My son didn't get curly hair befor he was about 1 1/2 year old. I shaved his hair whan he was 7 month old, and the new hair grew very slow.

My daughter is 5 and a half months now and she has straight hair eventhough it is starting to curl a bit on the top. My husband was born in the Gambia but his mum is from Ghana so he also has very tight curls. I have a little bit of a curl in my hair my self so I am hoping she will get nice curly hair :-)
