i have 3 kids 9,8, and 20 months. my oldest kids never did this but has anyone's kids ever taken their clothes and diaper off constantly? when i woke up one morning, i looked in my daughter's bed and she was butt-naked. my husband and i thought it was the funniest thing the first time but now it is every single day. she will take her diaper off and pee everywhere. i have to wash her sheets every day.we tried onesis but she can take them off too so we tried overalls but the diaper just ends up in the leg of the overalls. we bought her a potty chair thinking that it was a sign that she's ready for the big girl stuff but all she does with the potty is stand on it to climb up stuff. any suggestions?

Abandon all hope the clothes are not staying on lol. Your probably going to have to pick outfits that are hard to get off.

good luck amanda. i think if u keep trying with her this early she'll get it in no time if she's already saying and knowing what pee pee and boo boo is because my oldest daughter did the same thing. my youngest on the other hand will have on panties and will stand in the middle of the floor and watch the pee run down her leg. lol

amie that is too funny!! i think i will try the cloth diaper and the liners because diapers are way too expensive when shes just taking them off and throwing them everywhere because we have to buy pampers because the cheap diapers break her out and we buy in bulk which is about $40 for 132 diapers and they last maybe 3 weeks and i was gonna try pull ups but i priced them the other day and they are way more expensive than when i had to buy them 8 years ago!! thanks for that advice!

My daughter goes potty every time I go potty. She says potty at times I am not going potty and she goes to her Princess bathroom to open the door. But the only thing she does when she is on the potty is wipe and flush. She will wipe and flush, and wipe and flush over and over again. She even flushes the toilet for Mommy and shuts the lid. It is very rare that she actually goes potty on the potty chair, or the toilet. There has been a few times that she will go potty on her chair to show her Uncle Josh what a big girl she is; maybe I should have my brother potty train her. LOL But I have always heard girls are easier than boys. I had one friend tell me to use the thick cloth diapers and a plastic liner on top. She said that both of her girls hated the wet feeling and trained in 2 weeks. I have tried this and it has yet to work for me, but maybe you will have better luck at it than I have. Hope this helps you. :-)

hey amanda, i think your daughter is definitely ready for the potty. my oldest daughter who is 9 started using the potty at 13 months. no lie!! people don't belive me when i tell them that but it's true. i would put a pull up on her at night but during the day i let her wear panties and put the potty chair in the same spot and she would go right 2 it when she needed to go. my son was 3 when he was finally potty trained all the way but now my youngest who will be 2 in november just will not pee in her potty. she thinks it's a toy and a stool. i know this sounds crazy but she loves to watch t.v. so i started putting the potty in front of the t.v. and she sits there on it and watches t.v. and when she finally peed for the first time, i scared the mess out of her cuz i jumped up and started yelling for my husband to come see so now she won't go near it lol!!

I'm going through the exact same thing with my 16 month old! I also bought a potty because she's telling us boo boo and pee pee, but after she does it. Could she possibly be ready? My son didn't potty train till he was almost 3. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to get such a young one to even stay on the potty for more than 45 seconds?

thanks amie i will try the pull ups. hopefully it will work. my mom suggested i put her diaper on backwards and i tried it last night and i could hear her in her bed scratching at it to get it off. lol i guess she gave up on it and fell asleep.

I think this is a normal thing. My daughter is 2 and at times she will do the same thing. I try to always keep pants on her but you are correct it doesn't make a difference when they can take the pants off. She only does this usually in the mornings when her diaper is really full. I too have introduced the toilet and the potty chair but at the time that is just a fun thing and she doesn't get the concept of going potty on the toilet. One thing you could try are pull ups at night time. They are not as easy for a child to pull off, they have to be torn at the sides, not just pulled like a diaper. Hope that this helps you.
