My daughter is 2 weeks old and mixed (I'm white, her dad is black). Right now she is still pretty white but has more of a reddish tone than most white babies do, is there any indication of how dark she will be and when she will get her "real" skin tone? I don't want to sound like I care that much about what her skin color will be, because I don't, I am just curious :)

my daughter is mixed with white(me), and black(her sperm donor). she is 3 months old and she came out white as could be, and she is hardly changed in color, she has a slight tan but thats it, you cant even really tell she is a bi racial baby so i mean all mixed babies are different, my cousin had a mixed (black and white) baby and he came out dark!!! so it just all depends i guess...

Wow! I read all the comments, I wonder how the ear thing even started. I heard that one too My daughter is bi racial, I am white and her father is black (we are italian and ivorian). My daughter was born on the lighter shade of brown with jet black hair. Eventually, she goe darker and her hair started getting thicker and curlier. She is 14 months now and she is lighter than she was at birth and her hair keeps getting longer and curlier! I dont think the ear thing is really true from birth. What color are your childs eyes? Have they changed color? I always here white children have blue eyes? Carmi's eyes have always been brown

My son is Half White and Half Black and when he was born he was white as a ghost and now he has gotten a little bit Darker. His Dad said all his kids are born Light skinned and that he will get darker as he gets older. My son will be one 2morrow. But like everybody said all you can do is wait.

I was told that you can tell what skin tone your baby will have in the end by looking at her nailbed (the skin just under the cuticle). This skin will show the colour her skin will become. My daughter was born very fair but slowly she is turning more of an olive tone!

My 10 month old was reddish for the first couple of weeks. His colour is slowly coming out but he is a bit multi coloured at the moment. His legs and arms are darker than his torso and face ... it looks like I've had him out in the sun but I haven't lol. I guess eventually it will all even out. He is just a light caramel colour at the moment :)

I think you just have to wait and see! I have a 16 month old who has been light skinned since birth with blonde curly hair ... I also have a 4 month old who is dark skinned with black straight hair! My youngest one has started to get lighter since he was born. None of the wives tales that I have heard have not been true with either of my kids! I am just waiting it out!

by looking at my kids.. they arent much darker now than they were at a month old.. once they start playing outside in the sun they darken up but when winter hits they fall back to they normal color.. just like any child of any race. both my kids are mixed but my daughter looks white and my son you can tell is mixed.

Most people say to look at the babys ears and around their finger nails!! My daughter came out whiter than snow but before we left the hospital she was already starting to get darker. Now she is 15 months and is darker than my nephew who is 3 ( they are both mixed)

There are many wives tales of what to look for. Ears, privates, etc. All you can do is wait and see. When my son was born he looked white, but since he had so much hair and because of his eye shape he looked oriental. I've seen as mixed kids mature and develop some change slightly other radically. All you can do is wait and see, but it is fun to take many pictures of the different stages as they grow. My son who is three didn't recognize himself from his baby pictures because he looked so different from how he does now. Watching the discovery expressions on his face as he figured out that he was the baby in the picture was quite amusing.

My kids got darker. My first one was pretty brown when she was born but its funny because my younger one who is now a light brown color looks at baby pictures from when she was a baby and says she was white. She wants to know how she used to be white so I think color can change. And when my kids go out during the summer especially summer they turn dark dark brown.

I was told the same thing and he's lighter than his ears lobes so i'm still waiting to see if that's true. He's five months now and his skin has not got any lighter or darker since he was two months

Her ear lobes and the space between her nose and upper lip are darker than the rest of her. I was told the color of their ear lobes is what color they will be but not sure how true that is.

my son is of the same mix and I was told his skin color would be the color that's on his ears. I'm not sure how true that is because his ears are actually a little darker than his skin tone. He was a little darker when he was born but has gotten lighter and has not changed at all
