My son is 2 1/2, his hair is fairly thick and curly, but has a pretty soft texture. However, he scratches his head ALL the time. I am assuming he has dry scalp. I cant see dandruff and Ive had him checked for head lice..but he seems so uncomfortable when hes itching. Does anyone have any suggestions for what to do? After a bath I put lotion in his hair and use a leave in conditioner on his hair. I dont know what else to do.

I have a 4 year old girl who would scratch her hair constantly. I found this stuff at a local walmart....Hollywood Beauty TEA TREE OIL...It really took care of the problem...I was amazed!

He could be allergic to the actual shampoo you are using. Up until I was a teenager I couldn't use certain shampoos that have Sodium Laureth Sulfate (the ingredient that creates that soapy lather) as it made my scalp itchy but I didn't neccessarily have dandruff or head lice. There are products out there just look for Sulfate-Free shampoos and they are a little more expensive but give it a go and see what happens.

my son had really bad dry scalp, to the point where he was ripping his hair out when scratching. i find that only washing his hair every other day (unless absolutely necesary) works. also when i rinse the shampoo out (i use dove for sernsitive skin) i put a bit of olive oil in the water and then put lots of vaseline on his scalp right after.
