I just had my second daughter 5 months ago, she was 9 lbs 7 oz and 22 1/2 inches long. I had another section because I was unsure I could do a vbac, one dr said no, another said yes, it was kinda up to me. She was and is healthy and happy. :)

My firstborn (boy) was one week overdue and I went into labor naturally and had him at home. He was 10 lbs even, 23 inches. I didn't tear at all (water birth) and it was a very smooth, quick labor! His shoulders did get stuck for a minute while I was pushing, but I got him out fine. I was very, very surprised when they told me how big he was!
Now he is 18 months old and about 30 pounds. I haven't measured his height in awhile though. I am now pregnant with my second boy and wondering how big he will be!

Hi There,

My second son was born 10 days overdue. I was induced and in labour for about 6 hours i would say. Anyway after pushing for about and hour i was making no progress.



They prepped me for a C Section but said they would do a trial Ventouse first. His shoulders got stuck but after an episiotomy they got him out. He was born not breathing and it took them 2min to get him breathing.



He weighed 11.9lbs He was massive, He spent a couple of days in the neo natel becuase he swallowed some meconium and had some fluid on his lungs. they nick named him Budda in hospital. He is now 4 1/2months and weighs 20lbs. He is fully breast fed and NOT on solids

My first son (now almost 3) was 10lbs 8 oz. he came on his due date, relatively quickly 5 hours active labour , 12 hrs overall. It was natural but mostly due to the fact that i was stuck in admiting at the hospital for 3 hours. I needed an IV drip because i was strep B pos and it took 5 nurses to get it in the back of my hand, by the time they got it in i was pushing and they had to rush me to a delivery room, Quinn came out 45 minutes later. His shoulder was stuck and we almost had to use the forcepts but we managed to wriggle him out.
My second son was not a huge baby thank god, but he was 3 weeks early and still a respectable 8lbs 1 oz. Casey was an unexpected homebirth, he came when I was home alone. I'd been having prelabour cramping but no real contractions and no "show" I called my doc anyways cause the cramping was going on for hours, after she reassured me I was a few days away still, i called my hubby home anyways, I couldn't deal with my 2 yr old and both my mom and mother in law were out of town, he got home around 3 pm and I told him to go to the store to pick up everything we would need before the big event, he took the kid and dog and went to the store. by 3:30 I knew i was in actual labour, (hubby doesn't have a cell phone) and the contractions were right on top of each other at 3:45 I hit the bathroom again thinking I might have a BM with the contraction..there was lots of pressure 'round there. I reached down to check things out and found out he was crowning. That was my "oh crap" moment from that point on i think I went into shock and i let my insticts take over. Casey came out with 2..count them 2 pushes. i wasable to reach a towel from where I was sitting (the toilet remember) checked that he was breathing and that the cord was't wrapped around him. He was making noises but not really crying. THEN I called 911. I think I said something like.."I just had a baby could you send someone over?" After his initial reaction he told me to fing some string or a shoelace and tie off the cord 6 " away from the baby. I remember trying to walk around with this bundle in my arms and the afterbirth still undelivered trying to find some scissors after I found them in the kitchen and grabbed a running shoe and went back to the bathroom. i remember thinking that I didn't want to cut my converse and just staring at the shoe for a minute before realizing what a crazy thought that was. then I cut the shoe lace and tied as directed. the after birth decided to come out then and ploped into my older sons potty seat. i started laughing at that point and the EMT's came then. they were a little surorised to find out that all their work had been done for them. they took the baby and checked him over and for some reason they let me take a shower before i WALKED out to the ambulance holding the baby. We spent 1 night at the hospital that hubby talked me into since I did have a few stitches and we went home the next morning. So thank god he was only 8 lbs...I don't think it would have been so easy if Casey had been as big as his brother was.

Its nice to meet you and welcome to the group! Taylor was supposed tobe 6 lbs according to the ultrasound a week before they induced. I was induced 3 weeks early because I'm 5'4" and a diabetic and I have a very weak bone structure. The doctor used a vacume on her but finally they just had to reach in and pull her out bc she was stuck so bad and I had torn ontop of the episiotomy. I didn't even have an epidural bc the said it needed to be shut off so I could feel when to push.
So you beat me on size, baby and height wise! lol I'm glad you and your little one are ok. My baby is a giant. lol She's 8 months and the size of a 24 month old in height and about a 1 year old in weight....Her daddy is 6'8"

I was hoping there would be a group for this! It just seems like average babies stories are so different from big babies and I can't relate to anyone! Anyway, my daughter is two now and still big, she's very tall like me. :) My pregnancy was okay until about 30 weeks, huge heavy belly and very tight skin. I ate constantly and was always starving and so I gained 50 pounds. I was induced at 40 weeks and 5 days, was in labor for 14 hours only three of it pushing. The doctor used the vacuum on my girl but told me if it came off twice, I would have to have a c-section, well, it came off and my baby was not coming out. We were both okay, and away I went to the OR. About an hour and a half later our daughter Samantha was born, she weighed 10 pounds 13 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long. She was healthy, just too big to fit. I know other women who have had big babies just fine, and women smaller than me who delivered fine, I always thought since I am tall (5' 11") I would have no issues but babies always surprise us I guess! She is now just over three feet tall and weighs 30 pounds.
