why do people have to be so dam ignorant?

My daughter is 4 months old and she is half white half Crucian (her father is from the US Virgin Island St.Criox)
I live in Massachusetts and have not had to deal with any iggnorant people yet. im anxious for when the time does come thou because i have a VERY short temper and ill slap the shit outta somebody if they say something about or to my daughter and hurt her feelings! i dont even care if its another kid ill slap the shit out the kid then tell him or her to go get their mother and ill slap fire out her too! i WISH somebody would! i do hope to God i dont have to deal with this issue. it seems to be looked down upon more in the south thou it sounds like from Tammy. Anybody from NY or MA have had to deal with this issue?

i know...when i was younger i moved to parma ohio a suburb of cleveland. and me being the black girl i got called n**** all the time and it made me feel embarrassed and i didnt know who to turn to. and i was always picked and now i have schizophrenia which just makes it harder to deal with the way people think of me. i just wanna be accepted. all i hav is my fiance our kids and our families. i dont have any real friends to trust.

Because a lot of people are intimated. and they don't know how to handle it. So they have to be aggressive to other people to make themselves feel better.

I have not experienced any comments or ignorance that I know if...If anyone has said anything they most certainly haven't said it to me personally...I can't stand people that are racial ignorant. My son is mixed with black, mexican, and white...and yeah he doesn't look like me at all..at least i don't think so..It really sucks that some people are so blind and choose to judge based on the color of someone's skin...I am fortunate enough to live on the West Coast where interracial couples and children are pretty accepted. I just wish that those ignorant adults could see the world through a childs eyes...where color means nothing!

I am mixed with blk and wht and have been dealing with negativity from both sides all my life... blk ppl tell me that im blk and the wht doesnt count and wht ppl wont be my friends because im blk--and still til this day every time someone sees me call my mom who is white they look kinda funny or they dont believes she's my mom or always thinks we're friends.. to me its really ignorant and so 50 yrs ago of them to still think like this as many ppl tht are n multi racial relationships its ridiculous ppl are still so close minded but some things will never change so the best thing to do is ignore it and to live and let live...

Hi I am a mother of 3 biracial children.white and black.To Tammy I am a christian whom attends a very diverse multicultural church i love it. It doesnt say in the bible that its a sin to mix races. Ppl make up their own stuff. I believe that if we werent allowed to mix than we wouldnt be able to make children. Like animals or ppl with animals. I am fortunate that i do live in an area where there are many biracial children and couples. And I dont even think in this area Mexican and caucasian are even looked at as 2 races mixing cause its all around. Black and white is pretty widespread in my area. Makes it easier for my children. Of course i still get the occasionall ignorant ppl.I just try to ignore them.Its amaing when i travel outside our area. We are definitly the topic of discussion. And dont listen to those ppl say that its sin and blah blah blah. Cause I can tell you they are not true christians.Just teach your children about racism and keep your head up.There is absolutely nothing wrong with wht you are doing. And next time someone comes to you with the sin crap tell them only God can judge and all ppl were created equal. You are just creating on earth what its going to be like in heaven. lol. hope I gave words of encouragment.

I have five children , I raised all of them to love themselves. God didn't make any mistakes by blessing us with them, I'm working on our genealogy. There are so many different cultures in this family. So I told them they should feel really good about their history. It took all those culture's to make them who they are today. All of my children seem to really love and are happy with who they are. All the culture's were all human, so how is it a sin. Teach your children to love and be proud of all their diversities.

in the grocery store today with my baby daughter, this lady comes up and asks how old she is---then upon my answer she asks who's baby she is----i felt like callin her the stupidhead she is...i told her La'Dasiea is MY baby and she gave me the strangest look before saying, but you're white! SO WHAT! She resembles her daddy a lot but myself more each day! People are so dumb!

I don't understand it myself. I live in the south and racism is all around us. I am white and my husband is mexican (yes legal) and I can't tell you all the times I've heard people say well that's your choice but I don't believe in mixing it's a sin and against my religion blah blah blah. This statement most of the time is coming from people who cheat, lie, gossip, and other things to bad to mention yet this is the one so called sin they choose to avoid. I have told everyone of these people to bring in their bible and show me where it is a sin and I will divorce my husband, no one has been able to do this as of yet lol. I know racism is everywhere but I think maybe my kids would have it a little better if we moved to a more culturally diverse city.

Unfortunately people are just very very ignorant!! I am sure once my son gets older we will have to deal with this issue as well but I am just going to keep teaching him that color doesn't matter; its the inside that matters the most. Its a shame that racism is still an issue these days. God made us all so people should get over SKIN COLOR!
