How busy is too busy??

hi, about the sleeping thanx for the advice but i think in this case with boys that not the problem, they sleep from 7:00pm to 6:00am with an hour morning nap (sometimes) and an 1 and half afternoon nap. they really love their sleep

Amy I don't believe that is correct for all babies, I believe its the exact opposite. My son sleeps 1-2 hours in the am then 1-2 hours in the aft then sleeps 12 hours at night. I think the reason he is so busy and hyper is because he oversleeps, if my son misses a nap he is exhausted and miserable and the last thing he is doing is running around but when he wakes up rested he is super happy and ready to go go go.

Kids can be hyper if they aren't getting enough sleep. It's weird, but that's one of the thing that happens with sleep deprivation. Apparently 40% of kids with ADD have sleep deprivation.

If your boys aren't getting the gazillion hours of sleep they need per day - which is something like 12 at this age, then you might take a look at it.

Their natural body clock should tell them to sleep from about 6:30-7pm to about 6AM. This is the typical sleep pattern of toddlers.

If you have them not napping, and going to bed at 8 or something, this may be the culprit. You can slowly move their bedtime back by 15 minutes until you get to the glory of a 7pm bedtime.

My son is the same way. Ever since he learned to walk at 11 months, he's been running from dawn until dusk. He's almost three now and he's still going, lol.

its so good to know its not only my two who are like that, i can totally relate...the make engergizer bunny's look slow...i i suppose some kids are just way busier than others...

My son is 11 months and he is like the energizer bunny, he NEVER stops, unless for a bottle or a nap and thats it. He never wants to be held, or confined, in the stroller or car seat. He just started walking 2 weeks ago. But regardless he has been crawling and cruising for months, so he can make his way around the entire house in seconds. I feel like I am running a marathon everyday. He will play with a toy for a second then move onto the next thing, we have cats and a dog so he follows them everywhere and his newest thing is climbing everything, Im not sure how he learned because we have no stairs. but he can climb onto the couch the bed the table and he has no fear. I saw two twin boys yesterday they were 2 at dinner and they were just sitting there so calm and polite , it blew me away. We had my mom watch him because there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY we could bring him to a restaurant and have him sit in a highchair for even 2 minutes, he'd be plotting his escape the second we put him in.

All of mine were the same i just thought it was a boy thing, they'd just be on the go all day until they dropped off to sleep.
