oh and yes, get the toilet bars that you put in the toilet itself to turn the water blue and keep it clean. alot of the stinky smells stem from the actual toilet...so bleach it down well before adding the blue cleaner and spray with mr clean daily. let sit for 10 minutes and then just wipe dry. sometimes i actually forget to wipe it off. oh well. lol.

yes, clean with vinegar and water, it will neutralize the odors. also use the renuzits. i purchase them and since they are .99 a POP, i ONLY use them in the bathroom when i do buy them. i put them behind the toilet and they work awesomely well. also mr clean disinfects while leaving a pleasant odor behind. i also hate urine-y smelling bathrooms and you have to tackle them daily to prevent it from happening with children in the home.

I feel for you honey, but a very help full tip I can think of is BLEACH! It not only eliminates the oder but it kills germs. I suggest the clorox toilet bowl flush tablets and clorox clean up spray to spray around the inside of the toilet and around the bowl and floor daily! its not easy but no scrubing every day.

This is kind of a pet peeve in my house too, so I have many things in my bathroom to keep it smelling decent. First of all, I have a window (which I know you said you don't) but I open it whenever I can. Also, the bathroom door stays open at all times (unless of course someone is in there) so that no stale air stays inside. I buy scented trash bags. I have a candle which I light after the kids are in bed. I keep a plant in my bathroom as well (not sure how much that does, but it can't hurt, right?). I buy "toilet fresheners" that hang on the side of the toilet. I find that the Lysol solid fresheners last longer and smell good every time the toilet is flushed. I also have a can of air freshener on the floor in case it gets extra stinky. And one more thing: if you don't have an exhaust fan and can get one installed, do it! It will help a lot! Good luck getting and keeping your bathroom non-smelly!

I finelly got the smell out. I scrubbed the floor around the toilet the plastic bolts that hold the seat on and EVERYWHERE around the toilet with Clorox Clean-up and IT WORKED. I just keep up on it and clean the bathroom every other day. I feel like if anyone else cleans the house its not clean enough so I would rather do it. lol. I guess Im kinda OCD about it.

Leave some disinfecting wipes by the toilet and tell them they have to wipe down the toilet after every use. I have 4 boys and my boyfriend...my bathrooms always smelled too. It's not that they can't aim, it's that it splatters as it's hitting the water. After they use the restroom, before they wash their hands, they grab a wipe and clean: the lid, seat, rim, back of the toilet where the lid/seat hinge is and around the outside of the bowl. Wipe goes in the trash, hands get washed and bathrooms smells great. Also, tell your boys to either stop peein in the shower or they can clean that too. Just because my daughter and I are outnumbered, doesn't mean we don't like a clean bathroom. I decided, why should I clean it, they're the ones makin the mess! Their future wives will thank me for it...lol

You could try using an enzymatic cleaner (like the ones for pet odors) in a spray bottle, and just spraying down the front and sides of the toilet on a daily basis... I've found that the bathroom used by the two males in my house is a lot cleaner smelling when I do that than it had been before, and I only have to clean it half as often. :)

Haha thanks ladies, I would totally open a window if I had one in my bathroom I will try the air freshner thing. I scrubbed the toilet. I mean scrubbed. I used clorax clean up and an old toothbrush to scrubb around the toilet at the floor the screws that hold the toilet seat on and the hinge to the toilet seat. Im goin to do more scrubbing in there today and hopefully that will help. well see what happens.

Yeah I was going to say you can try plugging in an air freshner in the bathroom to leave it fresh. I have two boys another on the way and my husband so I kind of know what you mean. I haven't really noticed a stale urine smell, but it usually doesn't smell all that great in there after cleaning a few days later.

You could try vinegar, baking soda, bleach. Turning the water on hot before cleaning it. Opening a window, using a fan to dry it out, lysol, the plug in odor removers (sorry cant remember what they're called...'plug it in, plug it in')
