Yes the drs will tell you everything that you need to do to take care of it as well as the nurses will probably show you everything that needs to be done! I had to have my son Re-circumzied so make sure you ask questions if you have any at all.. my son wasnt circumzied right the 1st time around they hardly took anything off so the 2nd dr did a wonderful job but I stress to not putyour lil guy through that ask questions!! :)

The thing about circumcision is to each their own. There have been study's showing that some infants will sleep right through the procedure an others cry, there are debates about that, that they aren't sure if the nerves are fully developed there. I had a family friend who had to be circumcised when he was 40. Also in my opinion my son will be just for the "locker room syndrome". I dont want my son to be the only one who isnt and being made fun of when i can do something that can make it so it wont happen. Its unnecessary teasing. n

Yes I saw it done Amanda and I can say none of my boys felt any pain. Only 1 of my boys cried when he was held down. The other two barely whimpered. They were back in my arms in 5 mins.

My baby is not circumsized. Anyone who has ever watched this being done could not say there is no pain even if a "numbing agent" is used those injections burn ALOT, but the procedure itself is quite painful and medically unnecessary

well i think thats the point. i definitely would rather get it done in infancy rather that wait till and have to make him go through it 5 years later. A lot of times when theyre not circumsized its not as clean and gets infected easily, which is why it often becomes necessary 5 years later. If I had another boy I would do it again

Just like it is put in heads in other countries not to circumcise we recommend it here. Everyone we know is circumcised and I didn't even blink we knew we would also circumcise. I have never even seen a noncircumcised penis in my whole 38 yrs and do not even know any males are still intact.

why is the norm to circumsize. i am having difficulty grasping why because the only things that went through my head while pregnant was breast or bottle, stay at home or return to work, disposable or toweling nappies. who put the idea in any ones head to circumsize or not.

We knew we would circumcise the minute I became pregnant although the hospital and OB recommended it to be done as well.

In the US it is more then norm to circumcise all our boys. In my state 76% of babies are circumcised at 24 hrs old. There is no pain involved they are given a numbing agent and babies are back in there mothers arms in literally 5 mins. Healing is done in a couple of days.

if there is nothing medicaly wrong then why would you do that to your baby. my son was circumsized through necessary at 5 years old and if i could have avoided putting him through that pain i would ahve. i dont mean to sound condiscending or nasty to anyone but why do people even think of these things. what do you gain from circimsizing your baby except inflicting pain. i have seen this question a few times and have never understould why it is thought of. what makes you say will i or wont i have my healthy baby circumsized. who suggests it

Yes your doctors will tell you. its kind of sad but if i remember correctly it heals in about a week or 2. youre supposed to change a newborns diaper every 2 hrs and youre supposed change the dressing on their penis when you change their diaper. when i did it for my son they give you a bunch of little gauze squares and a few tubes of vaseline (petroleum jelly) all you have to do is basically load 2 pieces of gauze with vaseline and put 1 around where the cut is making sure that the only thing touching the open sore is vaseline. (you dont want to have to rip gauze off irritating, or opening it more) and put the second one right on the top of it. then change his diaper like normal. the first few times ull be freaked out and want to be so soo gentle, but youll get used to it then before you know it its over.
