I'm guilty of never really playing "kids music" to my son. If he's playing in his room, sometimes he likes to listen to his cd "120 Silly Songs" which is a great bunch of fun kids songs. He is 5 & he loves The Beatles, The Who, James Taylor, Carole King, etc... He also likes the soundtracks from some of his favorite shows. I usually just play either the local classic rock station (my favorite type of music) or I have made a couple of mix CD's of the above artists, just making sure that none of the songs don't have any "inappropriate" language or content.

The kids bop CDs may be good. Its kinda hard these days though b/c a lot of music may not be suitable for children. I would try those or just go w/ the music he likes if you arent as worried about it. That is kind of a tough one when you dont know the child. But you do mom. I would go w/ the Kids Bop Cds or whatever he likes.
