Elbow injured

My son has no mobility in his arms, his elbow was swollen and black and blue, took him to doc he didn't even take an xray. Told us to use cold, heat and motrin. Swelling is down a little bit, but still black and blue. Ot was here today, gave us advice and DH seem to get defensive about it! I hate when he does that! You just agree and say we will try it, don't get defensive about it! What can you do?

I think if it was swollen like that and badly bruised he should of had an x-ray. Just to rule out a bone chip rather than a break. If the swelling has not gone down completly by day 4 of the injury take him back to the hospital.
