I acutually have 2 boys with the disorder. Our 6-yr-old is the more severe. It would almost seem that he was autistic although he is socially aware of his surroundings. He is highly sensitive, will sometimes have difficulty with walking, bowel problems causing him to need diapers, difficulty with eating and aversions to just about everything, and still has difficulty with his speech even after 3 years of intensive speech therapy. As a baby he had a horrible time sleeping and couldn't keep anything down.

Our 3-yr-old has only had difficulty with potty training and speech, thank goodness. His speech difficulties aren't as severe as the older, but I wonder if that is in part to the fact that before he was even old enough to talk I had been using the sign language and touch cues that I had learned with my older son. I also got him help sooner, as I knew what to look for and who to get in touch with this time.

How old is your son and what kind of symptoms did you notice with him?
