My daughter had reflux and was on medication, Axid, which didn't completely work, but the only comfortable position so it seemed for her was on her back. She too has a very flat head and we've been to Cranial Technologies to have her measured. She is moderate severe Brachycephaly, which we are struggling with to have her put in a helmet or not. This was last month, she is now nine months old. She was first put on meds for reflux at about three months, although like I said, I wished they'd have put her on something stronger sooner. She was uncomfortable until at seven months she was put on Prevacid. Then she finally allowed us to give her tummy time and she wouldn't cringe when we picked her up. She was finally a "happy baby". But by then it was too late for her head... it is flat, hence the trip to Cranial Tech. I'd suggest to be as proactive as you can and keep pestering your doctor about meds. If your baby is not comfortable, you have to deal with it 24/7, not your doc. It may make sleeping easier and repositioning easier, especially sleeping on side or tummy (if that's okay with your doc) to take the pressure off the back of the head. Good luck, and keep fighting for your child!
