I don't know where you are at but here in NE Ohio most studios offer summer courses that run 3 to 6 weeks and are real affordable. I did that just to see if Star (my daughter) would do anything. She to loves to sing and dance. It was a way to just get her feet wet and not feel guilty about making her complete it at the same time. She loved it and we will be continuing it for our second year come fall.

Ask around for a studio that does classes for fun for beginning students for dance. My daughter started with a basic "dance" class and tumbling (you know summersaults) at 4 and hasn't stopped since. I started her with more of a dance/jazz class. Now at 16, she does primarily ballet with a little Jazz, but that was her choice after trying a little bit of everything through her "competition years" of about 6 through 9 for her and a good studio with lots of variety. But start small and see how it goes. Sometimes it takes looking for more than one studio. Liz's second studio was the charm for her, and we found it through a competition she went to and her cousins once she was hooked on dancing for over a year. Have fun.

just try putting her into some fance classes each child is different some are ready at 2 some arent ready until 10 it reaklklt depends. My mom put me in class at 3 and I didnt dance in class but I went home and danced and danced the teacher told my mom take me out and then try again when I was older and or asked to dance and I begged from age 4.5 to 5 and when I started kindergarten I started dance and I did it for 11 years. My older daughter I tried and she had no interest from age 3 until 5 then when her younger sister was 3 she then wanted to dance because her sister was doing it. now they both dance and cant get enough of it and they see alot of potentila in both my kids and almost see more in the younger she is only 5. they have plans for her to do a solo and be on a team next year they want me to start private lessons with her this summer to prep her .

Do you have The Little Gym in your area? I enrolled my daughter there a few months ago and she loves it. She does there Jazzy Bugs class which is a combination of gymnastics, tap and ballet and she loves it!
