Just wondering how old your child with DS was when you transitioned him/her from a crib to a bed. My son is 28 months old. We have baby #2 on the way and would like to have the crib available for him, of course. What signs did you look for to know your child was ready to transition to a bed?
Any input would be great!

My Tyler was 3 yrs old when I transitioned him to a twin sized bed! I made the move because I was concerned that the crib was not very comfortable and was afraid it was contributing to his restless nights! He has done very well in the regular bed but we did made sure we had bed rails on both sides of the bed. Tyler has always been a big climber and does really well going up and down our steep cellar stairs! I guess that would be the only other thing I would consider ... will he be able to manage climbing in and out of the bed without injuring himself?
