TIFFANIE PARKINS MEMORIAL FUN DAY
8th ANNUAL BASEBALL TOURNAMENT
JUNE 16, 2012 @ 9 AM - 3 PM (raindate - June 17th)
ANNE HATHAWAY PARK STRATFORD, ONTARIO
Tiffanie Parkins was young, a teenager full of life. She was enthusiastic and had a great love for her family, friends, and baseball. At a young age Tiffanie and her parents had to deal with her nocturnal seizures that occurred during sleep. With the support of her family, friends and the community Tiffanie was living well with her seizures. She was an avid baseball player and loved to be part of the team. She was one of many young athletes to play for the Stratford Minor Girls Baseball Association and called the baseball diamond her second home. Tiffanie lived a short but very fulfilling and vibrant life. On January 22, 2004 Tiffanie passed away at the young age of 17.
Tiffanie’s sister (Krystal), wanted to keep the memory of Tiffanie alive. And so in the summer of 2005, the 1st Annual Tiffanie Parkins Memorial Fun Day Baseball Tournament was held in Stratford. Over the years this event has grown in support. Tiffanie’s parents (Kathy & Murray Parkins), Tiffanie’s extended family & friends, and the community have taken it upon themselves to make this an event to create more awareness about epilepsy and seizure disorders and to raise funds for their local epilepsy support center – Epilepsy Huron Perth Bruce located in Seaforth Ontario.
This year is the 8th Annual Memorial Tournament and it will be held on June 16, 2012 at Anne Hathaway Park in Stratford, Ontario. The Parkins Family would like Stratford and area to know more about epilepsy and welcomes everyone who would like to participate and learn more.
Come Out For a Day of Fun - There will be a silent auction, bake sale, and resources!
