My son who has Complex parcial seizures, just started with Lamictal. He first was on Epilim and after a week the dr changed to Tegratol. It made him very very tired, and never go more than 3 weeks without a seizure.
So now we wean him of the tegratol and start on Lamictal.
Is there any side affects that?

My daughter is on Lamictal right now and they can't say what type of seizures she is having because she has had several different types over a year. My daughter is confused, real bad headaches, and it seemed to have dumbed her down because she can't think straight sometimes. I hope this helps.

Hi Courtney.
Thank you for your coment on my boy about Lamictal. we only found out about his epilepsy last Aug, but we knew something was going on. How is your boy's Complex parcial seizures?
Jean-Pierre is getting pale and just confuesed, but alot of the time he wil get really agressive towards us and his brother. The dr told me about a rash, but that is all. I noticed his very hyper and thinks his a plane or a wolf, and I read something a bout Lamictal can make you hallucinate. He is not normally like that. will just keep an eye on that.

Hello i know what your going through,my son has same type seizures,lamictal was 2 years ago now and we recently just upped dose because growing agian,but anyway there are side affects from lamictal and that side effect is rashes will appear if they just start coming even around bottom area.the thing is if you do notice weird rashes they can be life threatening. My sons neurologist warned me about it and im glad he did,your sons neurologist should make sure and go over medicines and side effects. My sons seizures started when he was 2 and half months old and has had 3 neurologist the first two just didnt seem to care and would just up meds.collin is now 5 going on 6 they are a lil better he is on 5 different meds.
