MRI showed right temporal lobe sclerosis. My family and husband still think my toddler is OK. I am scared. Can anyone please explain the steps you went through when your child was diagnosed with seizure disorders? I ran my son to the emergency room and was treated like i was a nut case. I was told by ER doctor that if my son was having a seizure he would

I agree. My daughter just began having seizures again and I took her to our clinic/er just to be checked out and was treated like I was CRAZY. Thank God I have a good repore with our nuero and he said to not ever try to go to the er as they are not equipped/trained to recognize or deal with this type of seizure. your standard er is going to do blood/xray and MAYBE a ct scan. i would get in with a pedi neuro right away

I agree with Lara. My paediatrician has told me to no longer take my daughter to ER's instead I go strait to the local children's hospital, (Even when we are on vacations.) We aren't to take her mediclinics, ect..

I had the same experience at the ER - go directly to the Children's Hospital in your area, don't ever waste your time at the ER. My son starting have seizures and it took 3 trips to the ER before I MADE them give him a CT Scan-they found a dysplasia on his left parietal lobe which they couldn't differentiate between a tumor so they sent us by ambulance to Children's. Turns out to be a dysplasia (lesion) and diagnosed with epilepsy. It's all very scary, I hope things work out for you and your child. Don't stop pushing and searching for answers, and new information. Doctors care, but they don't care as much as Mom!
