Question about EEG?

19 month daughter has been having what looks like sudden onset dizzy spells once every week or 2. She seems aware during the spell... but a little dazed. She does not get upset at all about it and goes on playing after it passes. She is on time for all milestones and slightly ahead verbally so no developmental issues. Neurologist ordered a 24 hr eeg after her 30min EEG came out clear. Possible diagnosis of Benign Paroxsysmal Vertigo of childhood however not all the peices fit according to the doc (like the fact that the spells don't upset her). My daught is telling me off and on (as well as a toddler can) that her left leg hurts. She will plop down rub her leg and say ouch or hold it up and refuse to step down on it.

2 questions:

1. If her 24 hour EEG ends up clear what are the chances that she is having seizures (and not vertigo)

2. Could this weird leg thing be connected to the dizzy spells or is my paranoia just heightened since I am watching her nonstop in hopes of getting a spell on camera?

Kimberly thank you for the positive thoughts. I hope your daughter is doing well. I am relieved we do not have to ride the medication rollercoaster but frustrated at the lack of diagnosis. We have heard "lets rule out brain cancer" to maybe toddler form of migraines to possible seizures. We will keep an eye on her and if things get worse we will pester the docs some more. She told me her leg hurt again today. She just suddenly stopped and started rubbing it saying ouch. It is a mystery.thanks again!

Thanks Kimberly...had our 24hr eeg and doc says it was "pristine". Going to keep an eye on her...and go back in 6 months. No diagnosis really. They aren't worried because she is doing so great developmentally. I guess she will either grow out of whatever it is or we will get to a point where it all makes sense. Thanks for your help

My daughter has had a 24hr EEG at 3 as well and it came out clear she was diagnosed at 20 months with Epilepsy and when she has a seizure she complains of left arm going numb as a kid I had the same trouble of my hand going numb she does not have seizures very often and so it makes it hard to tell what causes them it is very frustrating all this testing and stuff comes out negative good luck and hope things work out she is on the meds clobazam and that seems great
