Nora JK .... You need to have your son get a complete physical. They need to check him for seizures but also check out his heart. His episodes could very well be Epilepsy. There are many medications that can control Epilepsy but your son needs to have a video EEG to check his brain waves.

My son got it for the 3rd time but until now i did not know what caused of it. The 1st one when he was small he was asleep and felt like he was exorcist. 2nd time he played hp games and later we went to hospital to get him checked but they can't trace anything but they talked about cholesterol..gotta be kiddin' and 3rd he was chatting and he felt his lips cramped and ran towards his sister and lost. His lips turned blue. Last about appx 2 mins. Is it really epilepsy? What caused of it? any cure? How to tackled? Please help. :S

My son would have his lips turn blue. We would put oxygen up to his nose and he came out of the seizure faster. The doctor will tell you that it doesn't help but I have seen it first hand many times with my son. Good luck. Sandy Lora

Hi Jes, my son gets that blue-grey tinge around his mouth too, when he has a seizure, but again his don't last long maybe 1-5 minutes, at the moment though they are controlled. I believe it is due to not being able to receive enough oxygen whilst having the seizure - best to keep talking to your Neuro about it. Good luck with your young man.

yes my son also turns blue when he has seizures and it still scares me but I know why he does it.

Hello. My son's lips turn blue while he is having a seizure. He also has blue fingers and toes. This is because of a lack of oxygen during a seizure, he is Cyanotic. I was told this is common, but if the inside of his lips turns blue that is cyanosis call 911 immediately. Hope this helps.

When my son had seizures the same thing would happen and his seizures at the longest would be about 3 1/2 minutes. He has been seizure free for almost 7 yrs after two brain surgeries to remove a tumor in his rt temporal lobe. He is also still on Lamictal which is controlling them so he has no breakthrough seizures. He never experienced any side effects from him not breathing during his seizures. If it lasts longer than that I think you could try giving him oxygen, but I do know that my son's seizures changed sometimes too. I would ask the dr what he thinks would cause the change. Are the seizures longer, or more often? Maybe there is something else going on. Good luck, Jo
