My son has been going for the past 2 months and he went from 4,000mg of meds a day to only 600mg a day. No seizures!!! God is good! I'm not saying it works for every child, but it is helping my son who by the way is 9 yrs old.

I try to take my daughter for adustments regularly. They claim it keeps everything "firing" in the right order. She actually lets me know when she feels she needs an adjustment by the way she's feeling I guess. I believe they do help and I'll continue to use chiropractic care for my daughter. It keeps the spine aligned. If you ever read or look at the spine in detail - the spine si supposed to affect every other part of the body.

We have also been going to a chiropractor for a year now. My son has gone 3 months seizure free....I think sometime it takes a little while but I know it has helped greatly.

A chiropractor treats the neck and spine. When the neck and spine are not aligned it can cause nerve disruption to the brain and cause seizures. It has made a huge differance in my son's life. This may help your child as well, it will be worth a try. Find a choropractor in you area andhave a talk with them. Talk to as many as you like until you find one that is sincere about his work and your child. They all will be willing to give you the information you need. God Bless and keep in touch.

I'm glad the chiropractor did work some. My Lord 100 Seizures? You and your family will be in my prayers!

Our first chiropractor admitted he didn't have much experience treating seizures. Our second chiropractor was much more knowledgeable. He manipulates our sons back and especially his neck. I guess the underlying theory is that there is an interruption somewhere along the spinal column causing the electrical transmissions to somehow be blocked or misfire. (That's not very technical, just the best way I know to describe it.) Our son's seizure count did go down after seeing the chiro for awhile, and in fact he went 38 days without a seizure - the best he'd done in the last 3 1/2 years. Unfortunately, right now we are back to about 20/month.
The adjustments are done very gently and have not hurt our son. He doesn't mind going to see the chiro at all.

Our son, at his worst, was having over 100 clonic/tonic seizures a month while on 2 or 3 different meds. We are using the Modified Atkins Diet and also seeing a chiropractor. He currently is having about 20 seizures/month and is off of the meds. I would highly recommend trying a chiropractor and/or changing a child's diet. Because we have not been able to eliminate the seizures, and our son is not functioning well, we are now looking into surgery and are getting ready to start a new med - Clobazam.
