Anyone have odd reactions to medication?

I'm wondering if anyone else's child has had reactions to Concerta or Vivanse. My adopted son is 5 1/2 and is FASD. We tried Conceta a few weeks ago and he had a very strange reaction - hallucinations, constant talking and snapping his fingers. The dr and pharmacist both were surprised by this reaction. We just tried Vivanse and it is better but he was still talking almost non-stop and was much more moody. I know that he needs something to help him with school but I don't know how much more of these crazy reactions I can take.
