I'm expecting my second baby. We're not sure of the sex yet, but my husband really has his heart set on a boy's name. Well, feeling left out, I told him that we could use the boy's name if I could come up with the girl's name. He agreed, but now I'm totally stuck! My first daughter is Rory Jaclyn. I love original or different names. The middle name has to be Monet. It's my mother's middle name and I have always loved it. I love the sound of Ella Monet, but I have seen the name Ella sky rocket in popularity recently. I also like the name Delaney. Any other ideas? I also like the idea of a name being able to have a nickname. (My name is Shealyn, but they call me Shea) Thanks so much!

My daughters are named Saige, Jaiden and Jenae. They were all "different" names which to me made them extra special. Now, Jaiden is becoming too popular as a boy's name... but at the time - 17 years ago - I had never heard of it! Whatever you do, just commit to a name and don't let anyone talk you out of it!

Have you ever thought about using Monet as her first name. I think that Monet is not only original but is a beautiful name. If you don't like that idea Alexa Monet is very pretty.(Which I have never heard a name that sophisticated.)

I have a daughter called Avie-Lee Alana, I know Ava seems very popular atm but I don't know any other Avies! Also love the names Aaralyn and Jayke. I wanted (but other half vetoed) Lariana which means goddess of the sea which I guess could be shortened to Lara or Ria...

I am very partial to the name of my daughter: ANDRINA (pronounced ann dree naa). It's beautiful yet strong and very uncommon! All the qualities I demand in a girls name! I always wanted to name a daughter Corrine but Andrina was my MIL name (who passed away long before my husband and I met). We decied that if we had a girl we'd name her after his mom and a boy, after my brother. I tell him he's lucky that his mom had such a BEAUTIFUL name LOL! If you want to find more unusual names, try looking at derivates of common names in the baby books, usually after the meaning of the name. For example, Andrina is a form of Andrea. GOOD LUCK!

We used family names for our daughter. Elizabeth Mims Riddle. Elizabeth is for my mother and my husbands grandmother. Mims is in every generation of my family dating back pre-revolutionary war.

Emma Monet sounds kinda nice.

I'm a big literature buff... so my daughter's name is Emerson (after Ralf Waldo) and if this next one is a girl, she'll be Harper (after Harper Lee). I've been told those are rather uncommon names, so that might help. We call our first one Em or Emme. Good luck!

I myself like names you don't hear everyday, our girls are named Sierra Lynn and Shilo Mae. My Husband really wanted Piper, but Shilo's middle name was already picked out like yours and our last name is Sills so her initials would have been PMS. lol just could'nt do it.

When my husband and I found out we were having a girl we eached picked out a name, Noa and Bailey. In the end, we went with Greta, but I think Noa Monet would be cute.

i guess ella is quite popular, i too have an ella (gracelyn). my cousin named her daughter zeda (the "e" sounds like a long "a," you could also spell it zaida or zaeda). where we live, nevaeh has sky rocketed. i had picked out lena (the "e" is long, you could spell it leena, or leana). i have 2 sons, cameron and jonathan, but everyone thinks cameron is a girl's name, but it seems quite popular too. one of my boys has a patrice in his class, it sounded nice to me. i loved ava and olivia, but they're both popular around us too. good luck to you! we didn't decide on our ella's name until the nurse brought us the paperwork for the birth certificate, so don't feel too bad if you're giving birth with no idea of a name for baby!

I like TaNeesha, Hope, Serinity, Jasmine, April, Summer, Autum when is the baby due?

After naming my girls I was thinking I could had named them Summer, April, Spring lol

It's amazing how us mothers choose how we name our children. I ended up doing the letter game. B to F is 4 letters and F to J is 4 letters.

Here is my suggestion on trying to put a first name with a middle name.  Often times, I think if the middle name starts with a consonant, that the first name will flow really well if it starts with a vowel.  (And vice versa.)  Both of my daughters are named after people and unfortunately, neither one of them follows this rule.  However, I still think it works most of the time.  Try the name Olivia.  Olivia Monet sounds really pretty.  I also liked someone else's suggestion of Ember.  Ember Monet sounds really nice too.  Good luck!

I like the name Carlyn, which is why that is my daughter's name!  LOL  We didn't want her to be one of so many in a class, so we went for something unique too.  I love the name Delany, I work with kids, so I tend to see the trends in names, Ella is very trendy right now, but I can only recall one Delany....Good Luck!

Since you like Ella and Delaney, could you use Della? Are you looking for a name starting with E? My daughter's name is Ember. It doesn't easily lend itself to a nickname, but I've started calling her Sparky :)

My daughter's name is Elie (Ellie is the common spelling).  I agree that is flows well with Monet.  Ella is also very pretty.  We liked that name but decided against it because of the popularity, which is why we went with Elie.  I hope this helps.

what about isabella (nicknames issy, bella, bel etc) or Eliza (Lizzy, Ellie etc) they both go with Monet (beautiful middle name by the way!). there are a few baby name websites out there where you can search on meaning, unusual names etc.. I found one through babycentre.com.au but can't remember the name of it. good luck!
