How do I get my 6 month old to stop pulling hair? She loves the feel but... well... it kinda hurts..

My daughter is 6 months old and has discovered she loves to play with hair! I dont mind it because it expands her curiosity but then again, I do not want her going around, pulling hair.

Hiya! Firstly - she will honestly just grow out of it. Gentle reminders now and then that it hurts is enough. Babies love their mummies so much that if you give her an exagerated show of hurting (fake crying works too) then eventually she'll understand. In the meantime, just be quicker than she is and try not to give her the chance :)

mine does that, if my hairs up she will grab it and pull it out. i just grab her hand, not hard to mark or anything and tell her to let go of my hair and keep pushing her hands away. she has a death grip so i have to grab her hand for her to let go or shes not letting go, but i tell her no and when she goes for it again i push her hand away again and say no.

Well if it is you I would be putting my hair up in a pony tail or a bun, so then it out of her reach to some extent. And then if she still tries to pull whether it be your hair or any one elses' just remove her hand and tell her to stop gently. Then distract her with something else, babies have a short attention span so the hair will soon be forgotten. She doesn't really understand being told no at the moment, but being consistant now will certainly help later on when she is older and is still interested in hair.
