My 11 year old daughter has been having tummy trouble for about 6 months now. She describes it as feeling like she is going to vomit or her stomach is about to be upset. Her pediatrician prescribed zantac and prilosec. Neither worked. We went to a GI doctor and they did and xray and found she was constipated. He had her do a cleanse on the weekend and then take miralax everyday for a month. We are now ending that month and she still cries every night. Is this period related? Could she have some sort of anxiety?

She may have food sensitivities/allergies. Gluten, casein, anything. She needs bloodwork done for sure! Miralax is wonderful and doesn't cause cramping, my children use it too. She may have an ulcer or colon issue. There are numerous reasons for tummy troubles and your daughter's could be serious"

Go back to the doctor and let him know it's not working. You might need further tests, MRI's CT scans, blood work, whatever it takes. If your daughter is still in pain, don't give up until you find out why.
