my daughter is 10 now, but when she was little she would strip at the drop of a hat..lol... it didnt matter whos house we were in, if we were there longer than half an hour off they would come. she would start with her shoes and socks and before we knew it she would be naked. she didnt do it anywhere else, like when shopping or anywhere like that which is good. i wouldnt worry urs is probably just a free spirit and will grow out of it. i still embarrass my daughter about it and always will, god help her when she brings that special boyfriend home. ;)

All the time, I cannot keep my 4 yr old dressed.

Each of them have gone through this. Particularly the girls. My oldest girl is not 14 and never would consider not dressing anymore. The 9 yr old is always dressed though she was my naked baby. and the 7 yr old (though not the best at dressing herself) dresses appropriately too. Now I just have to live through the 4 yr old!

I think this is very normal behavour. My youngest is 16 months and has started doing this (diaper too). my other two started at around the same age (and still do it sometimes). I think it is part independence and part wanting to do a new skill (undressing--stripping is great practise!).It never bothered me--but we did have to teach the girls that it was ok at home but not in pulic or around other people  (or at daycare)-- I live in the cold north of canada so it is not an isue out side (way to cold!) and in the warm summers at home we let all of them go naked if they like as long as it is just family around.

My 2.5 yr old loves to be "naked girl". It's a game with her, and we let her play it for just a few minutes around showers and bedtime. She runs around the house and hides under her sheets. I think it's a sensory experience for her. Otherwise, we try to encourage her to leave her clothes on. Lately, she has started insisting that she has to change her whole outfit if it gets even a single drop of water on it, which drives me a little crazy, but at least she wants to put new clothes on.

Oh yes! I have twins that used to run around outside...taking their clothes off as they ran! They're 8 now so they keep their clothes on! My 4 year old used to do the same thing! Your Nadia will outgrow it! I used to tell my girls if they wanted to be naked we would have to go inside. When we'd go in, they decided it would be more fun to be outside, so they would put their clothes back on. Good luck!

I have twin 7 year olds! :)

At two it is totally normal.  I actually liked having them naked at home because they would use the potty 100% of the time as opposed to almost never if they had anything at all on their bottoms.  I didn't have a problem w/ them wanting to be naked outside or when we were going anywhere though.

One of my 7 year olds has recently begun taking her clothes off (only in the house) ALL the time.  Now that one I don't know how to deal with.... I send her to her room to be naked or at least make her put panties on, but it seems like the next time I turn around she is back to being naked again!

My little girl is exactly the same if she wants to be naked she wil get naked no matter where or who she is with. We didnt mind to much whilst she was at home, but we insisted she wore underwear esp with visitors coming round. the last straw came tho when i got on a bus with my daughter who sat herself down and as i made sure my pushchair with my new baby in was secure. I turned round and she had stripped from top to bottom, all the little old ladies on the bus found it highly amusing in i was so embarassed, i managed to convince her to dress herself then spoke to my partner when we got home. We agreed that enough was enough and sat her down and explained that you shouldnt be naked n pubilc and that people who did get naked would be taken to a police station and told off, i know this seems abit over the top and proberly a bit much for a 3 year old to understand but she did, and since then she has never taken her clothes off in public, occasionally at home she will still take her bottoms off but if we have company she knows she has to put them back on. it worked for us

My now 4 year old was basically naked from 18 mos to 3 yrs old. I quit fighting it (once took her to dinner at my parents in only a diaper). She seemed to use that to feel in control. She's now 4, and wears clothes all the time :) I think it's a harmless phase that will pass.

What is it with kids that wanna be naked, my almost 3 loves to do it as well, not to mention she likes to go camando when we go out in public. Its a great shock when ya pick ur daughter up and she is wearing a dress with no undies. HAHA

I dont think its bad thing, just as long as its at home and u constantly need to enforce putting clothes on with constant reminders. I have to with my 3 yr old and it seems to work

My little girl, LeighAnn, will be18 months this Friday and I have the same problem. She loves to be naked or the total opposite, she runs around with three or four layers on. I don't remember my 4 year old doing this.

First off I think all 2 year-old children become exhibitionist! LOL they love to disrobe as they say. I never let my child change clothes-I made her put the same ones back on. Back then my obsessive compulsive disorder made me iron all of our clothes-yes even hers! ever piece-even night clothes, so they were a lot of work and I would make her keep the same clothes on all day unless she peed/pooped on them of course. But 2 year-old's are learning how to be independent and they are trying to test boundaries to see where there boundaries are. Children feel secure when there are clear boundaries set. So, in my opinion you should set the rule (no removing your clothes) and set the discipline if that rule is disobeyed, and stick to it. When Breanna was 2 I would put her in time out for 2 minutes for each indiscretion. On the other hand-don't sweat the other small stuff so much-allow more independence in other areas so you don't cause them to distrust their own judgment. Hope that helped some.

Did you try letting her pick out her own clothes?  My kids are more prone to keep their's on if they picked out their own fashions.  By the way they will never match anything, and people will look at you wierd, but hey, they're dressed right? :D
