Potty training a little girl

My daughter will be 3 in Feb. We had tried potty training her shortly after her 2nd birthday and she did ok for a few days but became terrified of the potty. So we gave her a break and tried again off and on since about May of this year. Anyway, Monday night she went #2 on the potty and since she has only been wearing diapers when she sleeps at night. She has been wearing big girl panties and going on her own for the last 3 days. My question is, for those of you who have potty triained a little girl, about how long did it take you? I know every child is different but I'm just wondering when I should try taking her out on errands or to the park? Today we drove my boyfriend back to work and came home which was about 10 minutes. And also when did your child start staying dry through the night?

Thanks Wendy! Sometimes if she is being strubbron about going I will go in with her.

Sabrina, I have a friend who didn't potty train her little girl until she was well over 3 and she picked it up right away. Her little girl didn't have many accidents but she was a little stinker about wiping after she was done. Does she have a piggy bank? We rewarded our daughter with about 5 coins everytime she went potty. I hope your daughter starts soon! :) Diapers are so dang expensive! Good luck

My daughter turns 3 on the 5th of november and refuses to use the potty.So I'm glad your daughter is at least doing something.

my girls were great beleive it or not 22 months old for the first and 26 months for the second ...big girl knickers beacuse that way they feel it when they have a accident ...and putting them on potty often like we went on it every hour ...lol me to why not ...everytime your going out go just before yes do it to ....there more comfy that way .....at night limit what they drink 1 hour before going to bed nothing but a sip ......give them something to do while on potty like talking to grandma on the phone drawing a pic or reading a book to them .......when there learning you have to think for them about when and how often they need to get on potty eventually they just run to it themselfs.......the more times there sucessful with it the better so set them up for sucess.... hope it helps its been awile for me but i remember.. my kids are 21 and 14.....lol
