My daughter is 22 months old as was showing all the correct signs for potty training so two weeks ago we started.

Everything was going well untill I picked her up from her nursery on Thursday and they told me that she had an accident and soiled herself. They said she was mortified when it happened and to be honest she has not been the same since.

She is terrified every time I change her nappy and cry's every time she does a poo!!! She is so clingy with me, which is just not like her, and wont have a bath for long as she does not have a nappy on.

I have stopped the potty training as she is too stressed but I am worried about her as she seems to be scared about her toliet habbits.

I just dont know what to do, anyone been in this situation any advise will be more than welcome.

My advice is to check out the Potty Training Community on Circle of Moms. I just joined it because I'm interested in teaching my 16 month old how to use a potty. There are a lot of questions and answers there that might help you.

Along the lines of what the other moms here have said, I am worried about what was said or done to your daughter the day she soiled herself at school.

I would agree that you should talk to the ladies at the daycare. But a sugestion is to try and make potty time happy for her again. try a sticker chart or elmo has a potty time movie. Bring her with you to the potty and when she hears you go get very excited and happy. I would say YEAAHHH!!!! and then when my daughter would go i would praise her ALOT. I cant imagine why she would be scard other than if she maybe has an infection or it is hurting her to go. bladder infections are common.

I don't have much help for this question either but also have to wonder what exactly happened at the nursery. It sounds like she is very traumatized about something and it can't just be the fact that she had an accident. Did some of the other children treat her badly over this or did someone get very upset with her? Something happened... I would try to find out what happened, ask her questions and ask the nursery questions. Hopefully you will get some answers.

I am sorry i can't help but what exactly happened at the nursery that reversed her potty training? I would talk to the adults there and find out.
