My daughter who is now 22 months old was diagnosed as being a High-Needs baby at 6 weeks of age. I will admit until just recently I have done very little research on these babies. I just recently purchased a book called The fussy Baby Book - Parenting your High-Need Child from Birth to age five, it has confirmed alot of my feelings and also been enlightening. My daughter is still very high maintenance, still cries quite frequently throught the day, hardly sleeps day or night(boy I can't wait until I have that one mastered), she throws tantrums at least once a day, but on the other hand she is the most loving, gentle and bubbly little child I have ever seen. I am learning to change things to suit her personality, but I am getting very sick of family and friends telling me that I am spoiling her, she is my daughter and I know what she needs better than anyone, just because I am doing things differently than they have or would does not mean that it is wrong. Looking forward to hearing more from other moms out there and there babies.
