So I've known that my son has asthmatic conditions. He had RSV the first two winters after his birth and then walking pneumonia one year and this year upper respiratory infections. I was the same when I was little so my grandmother suggested an asthma specialist. I'm so nervous! The testing is the same as when I was 6 and I remember being so upset and still today remember how bad it hurt for the skin allergy test. Anyone have comforting advice to this new step I'm taking?

Both my children have had many visits from asthma and respiratory specialists. I think they are much more gentle with their approach compared to years ago. Pack some snacks and toys for the wait if there is any, basically lots of info will be asked of the adult, some scratch tests and maybe a blood test or lung xray. Good luck.
