Hello my little boy has Spina Bifida Occulta (mild SB) and I was wondering if anyone else has experience of this. The docs say that it's mild but Ben has severe bladder and bowel problems and is having an op (his first) later this year. Also, I am from England.

I see this was posted in 2009 but if you are still around I would like to know how everything went? My son was diagnosed yesterday. There is not a lot of good information on the internet because most says it is a condition that does not need to be treated. My son cannot control his bowels/bladder and has weakness in his trunk and legs, and a possible tethered spinal cord.

I have SB Occulta but I didn't have any issues with my bladder or bowels. In fact, the SB has never really been an issue for me, it's the hip displacia that has given me more problems. Best of luck with your son!
