waiting list for speech therapy

Hello my name is HOLLY and i have a 6 yr old who is in speach and has been for 3 years now ,also my 21 month old is starting not to talk verry well or at all i went to a web site called HELP ME TALK there are tons of ,differnt exercises that you can start with i did and it has helped do much .YAhoo.com HELP ME TALK ..good luck

well i feel the same way. my daughter did not start to speak until 4 years and she was on a waiting list for speech therapy for so long. I mean she is now getting occupational therapy and she was on a waiting list for that for so long too..

I have a 2 1/2 old who has been on the waiting list since August of 08. I moved in November of 08 and gave them all my info.  Well from November to Janurary 09 all my info got lost.  So when Keagons name was next to come, and they could not get a hold of me, they took him off the waiting list. I got a hold of them in March 09 and fought with them to get him back on. I did it, and they said he is on the list where he should be. i keep calling to see where he is, and also to inform them that he has been diagosed with childhood epilepsy. But they have yet to get back to me. It is so frustrating!!! I was told it could take up to a year for Keagon to get in. THat is so crazy!!

My ped never mention that he could make things easier for me he is aware of his speech condition but i will ask thank you

and i bring both my sons to early years programs library programs whatever i can get them into for free , it helped with my first son but my 2nd son it doesnt seem to make a difference

my son is a late talker and we go see the speach therapest for the second time in a couple of months. When he trys to talk and you can't understand him he gets realy frustrated. I have noticed that scince he has got a early placement at school nursery he has started speaking abit more and clearly but still gets frustrated still on the others bless him

My doctor said that my daughter will most likely have to have therapy, and it can be taken at our family hospital.  He said once he calls that there should be no more than a weeks wait.  You might ask your ped to make a phone call and see what they can do.
