my 13months old daughter has recently started screaming at the top of her lungs...when she wants something, when she's excited...just screaming and I swear everytime she does it, my eardrums dissapear a lil more..lol. please tell me this is just a phase that she will be out of soon?

OMG i thought i was the only one on this planet who's kid did this...lol both my girls did it and my 17 month old is doing it now they grow out of it in about 3 months maybe a little longer...just wait till the crying stage...haha GOOD LUCK

My son did this! I would just tell him "Shhhhh.....indoor voice please" while putting one finger over my mouth and one on his! I did it everytime he did it. When he throws himself on the floor with a temper tantrum I let him just get it out! The less reaction they get the less they do it because they don't get attention! Also, you have to remember that our babies now have a voice! They just want to be heard! Try not to punish too hard for the crime of screaming. You can do time out if they "Shhhhhhh..." and finger doesn't work but consistantancy is the key. Keep telling her over & over. Good luck. My son is 19 months now and he very seldom screams but when he does I show him mommy with my finger to my mouth or simply say "indoor voice" and he is good!

my daughter started that shortly after she turned one but im glad to say it only lasted a month or two.. she was using it to get our attention or get what she wanted. we simply ignored her and kept talking or going about what we were doing best we could until she stoppped, then she could have our attention. she soon learned it wasnt the way to get what she wanted and stopped.

HAHAHA I thought I was the only one to use that expression screaming/crying bloody murder :o)
My doughter does that too and she is almost 2 years and has done it since before she turnd 1 and I don´t thinks she is on her way to stop it. And like you - my ears hurt when she does that. When she screams like that I just hold her thight with her face facing my chest to lower the wolume :o)
