My son was intubated for 6 weeks, on a nasal canula for the other 6 weeks in the NICU, and came home and on oxygen for 6 weeks. Last week he got sick, and now he's back on oxygen. Have any of you had to be put back on oxygen due to sickness? How long was your baby on oxygen again?

my 24 weeker came home on oxygen to he was on it for about 2 months and now he is still really wheezy at times but he either gets a neb treatment and also has a inhaler that i carry with me and1 that he gets 2x a day. about 5 months after we had come home he had gotten RSV (even with the shots to prevent it) and was put on oxygen till he was better... but since then he has not been put back on oxygen just breathing treatments nebs/inhalers GOOD LUCK oh yeah he is 13months now 9 months corrected

my 27 weeker came home on oxygen, now at 10 months ( 7 adj.) is still on it....when he gets sick we increase it till he is better, then usually he goes back to his regular flow. So hopefully he will be off soon as he is better. I cannot wait till life with no oxygen.....

Luckily, my son didn't come home on oxygen and has never been put back on but there was a little boy in the NICU with my son (his mom and I became friends) who has been back on several times, only when he's gotten sick and it only lasts for a few days.
