Poor Weight Gain

I had a 25 weeker and she is now a little over 8 months (5 months adjusted) and we are having a problem with weight gain. I can't seem to get more than 3 ounces in her at a time and if she does want more (very rare) by the time we heat up the bottle, she refuses it. Her GI doc has her on 27 calorie Similac Neosure. Also asked me to give her vegetable oil for the extra calories, which she won't take. Is anybody else having this problem. She was 7 lbs. when I brought her home in August 2009 and now she is maybe a little over 12 lbs. now.

i had a 27 weeker he weighed 1 lb 6 ozs when he was born. He has always had a problem gaining weight he is 13 months old now and weighs 16 lbs 9 ozs.My son is on the similiac neosure formula too and I don't know if it is just a "preemie" thing but my son will only take three to four ounces at a time and never anymore. I haven't heard about the vegetable oil before but I really don't blame her for not wanting it! :) His dietician said that as long as that he is gaining weight and not losing it that we shouldn't really worry about it. They also go through a "catch up" time so maybe your daughter hasn't hit that time yet? I don't know what else to tell you but I hope that at least helps a bit!
