Fun things to do in Montreal

I just moved here a few months ago from Gatineau. I find Montreal is so big and hard to explore. Does anyone have suggestions for fun things to do with young kids. My daughter is 18 months old. I like to engage her in physical as well as educational activities. I also am having problems trying to find groups and activities for her to join at her age (in my town just outside Montreal everything seems to be geared for children over 2 yrs).
