My son will be 4 in March and he is the pickiest eater i have ever seen. He won't eat burgers, hotdogs, fruits, veggies, or even ice cream, the list goes on. He absolutly refuses to try anything new and to make it worse, he is now refusing to eat things he usually would. We have tried EVERYTHING; bribing, taking things away, compromising, etc. I am so lost and scared, he is very small and under weight and no matter what i do, he wont eat properly. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Katie, I know that your message was posted in 2010 and it has been four years. I'll be interested to know about your experience in feeding your son. I have a 16 months old who is a picky eater and he looks thin. Everyday is a challenge for me to get him to eat more - he loves snacking but main meal times he only snacks too. I am super worried about how he will be in school… will he eat anything in his lunch box! Your help will be appreciated! Hope to hear from you. X

Hi Amanda,
My son is 4 and half and will only eat a handful of different foods, I think he has issues with the texture of foods as he hates messy food. He wont try anything new, so I give him the same food over again, it drives me mad. I also have an older 12 year old boy who is very fussy, but my 4 year old is worse, I would absolutely love to sit at the table and watch them eat a balanced meal but it never happens, bribery sometime get him to try something different but it is really hard work watching him grimace!! Good luck!

I am having the same problem with my son who is 15 months old. The only thing he loves to eat is fruit. I did get him to start to eat carrots by giving them to him still frozen. My doctor also suggested trying to add toppings, such as ranch dressing, ketchup, or cheese. I am worried that my son is not getting enough to eat. He is very underweight at 19 lbs. I also give my son vitamins and pediasure to help give him the nutrients he needs. I hope this helps and good luck.
